Summary

Operative: Wheeler Summerbee

He’s solid as a rock....

Former Immortal Ops Agent Wheeler Summersbee has spent most of his life on the run from his own government. When he’d agreed to be a living test subject in their quest to genetically engineer the perfect super-soldiers, he never dreamed he’d come out the other side of the testing a gargoyle-vampire hybrid who craved blood and had a serious allergy to sunlight. But that’s what happened. So, when he finds himself trapped in what feels like eternal darkness, encased in stone, with the prospect of never being free again, he abandons all hope. That is, until he hears the melodic voice of a mysterious woman he’s sure is a goddess. Could it be she’s his someone special? His perfect match? His mate?

She’s small, but her will is mighty....

Samantha has finally landed her dream job and is putting the finishing touches on an upcoming gallery showing, when everything that can go wrong does. There is a delivery mix up which leaves her with a very lifelike, not to mention a very life-sized, stone statue of a hunky dude who’s jeans aren’t quite buttoned all the way and who’s rippling six-pack are on display for all the world to see. And while she has to hand it to the artist for sculpting the most delicious looking man she’s ever seen, the giant statue is not the one she needs to make the gallery showing a success. When a bunch of heavily armed bad guys storm into the gallery, threatening her and the statue of all things, she learns there is a whole lot more to the art piece than just rock hard abs.

Fate’s special delivery has left these two potential lovebirds fighting for their lives in a race against The Corporation. Can they outwit and outmuscle the bad guys, or is their budding new romance at risk of never reaching its final destination?

Book 4

I jumped straight into this series without reading or listening to any of the previous stories and still enjoyed it. This book focuses on Wheeler’s tale, who is part vampire and part gargoyle. Things get interesting when Sammy hears the gargoyle statue speaking to her. Overall a fun, well crafted book that is easy to listen to.

Sparks Fly Between Mates!

This was a wonderful story with fantastic narration by DC Cole. I loved the different accents he perfected which brought the characters to life. It was lovely to read Wheeler’s story. He’s such an engaging character and I loved his interactions with Sammy which were humorous and entertaining. Mandy M Roth has created such a wonderful paranormal world. You can dip in and out without having to read/listen to the books in order which is always good. Loved this and highly recommend.

Awesome!

I love every book in this series. This is Wheeler's story, we get glimpses of him in Wrecked Intel, Act of Brotherhood and Bound to Midnight. This book doesn't disappoint! It can be read as a standalone but it's best when read in sequence with the rest of the series.

I have loved Wheeler since we were introduced to his character in the earlier Outcast book. Unlike the other PSI and Ops operatives who are mostly dark and brooding, Wheeler always had that good natured, lovable vibe. So I definitely loved how this story turned out. His light-heartedness carries this story beautifully, and Mandy does an amazing job balancing all that out with her choice of villain. If you love other books in this series, then this will definitely become another favourite!

Narration is once again on point. DC Cole does an amazing job!

Amazing story ❤

Absolutely love this series. Action, romance, mystery and humor. Love that Wheeler gets his mate in this one....definitely like the fact she meets him as a stone statue. Gus and Bill are always my favorite side characters.
