Summary
Danny "Madman" Maddox isn’t supposed to make Skylar Haze's heart beat out of rhythm. At least not anymore.
She hasn't seen that boyish face, always covered in a five o'clock shadow, dimpled smile, and teasing hazel eyes, since the day he left to go on tour with her brother Joey's band. Now, with a major record label backing them, the band is in need of a bit of help, and when Joey asks Skylar to be the band's photographer, she can't help but say yes.
Of course, Joey doesn’t know about that forbidden kiss. The one Skylar hopes Danny’s forgotten.
But can she?
One smile and she finds herself slipping again. But he’s the drummer, and he’s beaten her heart before. And she won’t let it happen again.
Fans of Kasie West, Cookie O'Gorman, and Monica Murphy will fall in love with this coming-of-age romance series that tackles love, friendship, and moving on from painful pasts.

🎧 Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession 🎧
The first book in the Boys of Fallout is a coming of age story dealing with bullying and a friends to love storyline.
Well written, sweet, with well defined characters that will warm your heart, also a nicely performed narration by Kaye Anderson.

enjoyable
An enjoyable book with some serious issues involved in the story. Bullying being one of them. I liked how everyone involved banded together over the issue. Kaye Anderson is a new narrator to me, her narration was good but I feel two narrators would have been better.

An quick and enjoyable listen
I enjoyed listening to this story. I would love to listen or read more in this series. I have not read or listened to books by this author before. The narrator was good and she did a good job at bringing the characters and story to life. I am sure others will enjoy listening to Out of Beat as well.

Great fun book
Loved this book. Listened to the whole thing in mostly a day. The narrators voice is so easy to listen to and while Skye hasn’t had it easy she find her way out and Danny is there for her even when he doesn’t know it.

Out of Beat
I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure how much I would be able to get into it as I normally dont like band/rockstar books but it was a very fun read. All the characters have a close knit chemistry with lots of banter and making fun of each other, which pulls you right into the story making you want to be part of the group.
The Narration by Kaye Anderson was a bit monotone and choppy at the beginning. I'm not quite sure if that actually changed and got better as the book went on or if I just got used to it and didn't notice it after a bit. Overall I didn't feel like if hurt the book, it was just an annoyance to start off.

A sweet and relatively simple story.
The narrator Kaye Anderson has a pleasant voice and though I struggled to listen in the beginning, it became easier as the story progressed.
I enjoyed getting to know Skylar. What an awesome opportunity she’s given when her brother asks her to be the band photographer for his band’s U.S. tour! The interactions between Skylar and the guys in the band made for a feel good, family type atmosphere. Skylar and Danny (the drummer) have a past that the others are unaware of, but it’s hard to hide their connection. Overall I enjoyed the story.

Sweet
This is a sweet coming of age/friends to lovers story. All the characters are on tour in a band. The guys are young and a bit immature but very tame for musicians with very little drama in the story. Kaye Anderson did a good job narrating the story. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

An enjoyable story.
This is the first time I have listened to anything narrated by Kaye Anderson and I did enjoy listening to her voice but I did find this story took me a few chapters to get into.
Skyler and Danny's story is a sweet best friends to lovers romance.
A couple of years ago after sharing a kiss Danny left Skyler to go on tour with his band and Skyle'rs life took a bad turn.
Now a fantastic opportunity has arisen and Skyler and Danny find themselves in close quarters.
Will this be the start of something beautiful for them both?
Overall an enjoyable read and I will be listening to the rest of this series.

This is a wonderful listen!!!
Skye and Danny’s story is so good! Cassandra Giovanni did a great job with these characters and the subject matter! Skye’s life took a nosedive after her brother and his band, her friends left town. She was bullied and had no one to talk to.
She is now graduated, and the band wants her to travel with them as their photographer. They are unaware of what happened to her. Danny is now and has been in love with her, she loves him. The rest of the band does not know.
What happens when the band finds output, about Danny and Skye, about what happened to Skye after they left?
This is so well worth listening to!!! Kaye Anderson does a good job with the characters.
