From the multimillion-copy bestselling author of the DCI Robert Kett series Alex Smith, comes the second novel in a mystery series filled with the gripping action and hilarious comedy fans have come to love. Welcome to Southwold!

Some wounds never heal…

With his first case in Suffolk successfully closed, DI Harrison Baird faces a difficult choice: return to the familiar streets of Aberdeen, to his home and his homeland, his friends and his family and his cat.

Or stay in England, with his estranged father and a lifetime’s worth of trauma.

Maybe it’s not too difficult a choice after all.

But even as he makes plans to leave, the county is rocked by a horrific discovery: a local celebrity, tied to a tree and shot with arrows, his head missing.

It’s a crime that echoes one of East Anglia’s most famous legends, and Baird soon realises they’re chasing a killer who is opening up old wounds.

Together with DC Constance Connell and the rest of the Southwold Major Investigation Team, DI Baird begins a hunt for a monster.

And discovers that he isn’t the only one with unfinished business…

It’s all i can say about this series .. twists and turns , anger , fear and the comical comments made .. Even the description and mannerisms of Diana the Chihuahua makes me giggle out loud … And with Angus’s amazing voices and adding drama to where the dramatic parts are .. I’m hoping I dont have to wait too long for book 4 ( have already listened to book 3 ). Perfection all round

Wow wow wow

This gets funnier the more I listen to it! and I love the nod to DCI Logan - very good!

The humour!

Enjoyable and amusing but also exciting and riveting.
Getting used to the characters now, although the weird fish descriptions are somewhat nauseating!
Angus King has a hard job with all the different voices but,as ever, makes the narration effortless.

Quite bizarre at times!
