About this listen
I made a promise to the enemy… and I intended to keep it.
Thank the goddess I have my pride and my wonderful, amazing mate—whose patience matches no other—because the world is in chaos, and Cosmo is my rock, my safe place inside the storm. If only I could find the time between witches, work, politics, and family to prove it to him.
The Shifter and Magi Equality Act is in full effect, supposedly making us equals, but the people themselves—the humans—are still treating us as lesser. Every time I turn around, we’re running into trouble between humans and non-humans.
To make matters worse, witches are everywhere in Fairview City, and the Red Cloth is encouraging humans to join their forces and challenge the equality my people have fought so hard to get.
And now, Anderson is back. Back and gunning for me.
But he doesn’t realize I’m gunning for him, too.
Only Unity Will Spare Us is the fifth and FINAL book in the MM urban fantasy series, The Magi Accounts. It’s recommended to listen to the series in order because the romance and plot progress throughout the series.

I am not okay. At one point in this book, my heart was breaking and I was sobbing. Actually, I was an emotional mess this entire book. It was one of the most heartbreaking, moving and powerful stories I’ve read. This story legit tore EVERY SINGLE EMOTION straight from my soul and threw them onto the floor, leaving me awash in a pile of conflicting feelings. Going to blow your mind and wreck your world - I am beyond impressed with Michele Notaro. This is one of those books you will FEEL.
Madeo, Cosmo and the rest of the pride continue their fight for equality and peace. Cos has been my favourite character since the first book and remains my favourite. He’s truly amazing - a good leader, kind, caring, supportive, strong, protective … I could go on.
I loved seeing Madeo grow throughout this series, seeing him comfortable with affection made me smile as I know what a huge milestone it was for him. I honestly adore the characters in this book and we see plenty of Jude, River, Kulani, Charlie, Ash, Logan, Haiden etc.
The chemistry, the bond, the sweetness between Cosmo and Madeo, to me, is the heart of this series. When I look back to the first book I am amazed and feel nostalgic about how far these characters have come, how far this series has and how much I’ve grown to love them. The many romantic moments between Cosmo and Madeo made me melt, it was beautiful to read and felt authentic.
The witches were seriously evil and I despised them. The final battle was heart stopping, devastating, and honestly terrifying. All the other battles leading up to that moment was written so well, I could vividly picture them in my mind.
Zachary Zaba absolutely brought it with this performance; he was perfectly cast to bring these characters and story to life...
Zaba performs Notaro’s clever banter, heartfelt emotion, and all the sizzling passion, perfectly! Hearing this emotional, powerful and romantic story being brought to life, made it that much more vivid. Although, I do wish I heard a bit more emotion at that heartbreaking moment.
I’m very sad to say goodbye to these characters. The epilogue was sweet and a lovely way to close the chapter on this action-packed journey.

Until Mads’ nemesis comes calling. This time, it’s going to take all of Mads’ strength – relying on his dyad Jude and his mate Cosmo to fight off Anderson and the Red Cloth witches.
This is again a violent book and I worried all my favorite characters would survive. There’s also a flashback scene from Mads’ time in the academy and that was pretty brutal to listen to. Overall, though, this was a great listen and a great story.
I’ll be sad to see everyone move on with their lives. The epilogue was super awesome and I smiled I way through it. Who knew how my favorite couple would settle into domesticity so easily?
Zachary Zaba is one of my favorite narrators and he did a great job on this audio. The narrator changed midway through the series, but I didn’t miss a beat. Both were talented and competent and I was happy to see Zachary end out the series. I do plan to go back and snag the audio I missed, but even if you haven’t been around for every one, you’ll be fine enjoying this one. Definitely one not to miss.

🎧📚🎧 Zachary Zaba did a fantastic job voicing the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them. His portrayal of the character was spot on and I loved how he took each role and made it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. Zaba is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another fabulous listen.

I became a fan of Michele Notaro's paranormal romance/urban fantasy after reading the first book in the Ellwood Chronicles series and it has just gotten better and better. The Magi accounts has been full of action, drama, relationship drama and family fun but here I found that I really felt the heart of Mads come out. He shows just how deeply he feels for those who have become his family and pride, just how much a part of his heart and soul Cosmo is, and when it comes to Jude, there is no man he would rather have as his ride or die, his partner in crime at home and work, and the person who makes his magic shine.
This finale is a fitting tribute to the journey that everyone involved has been on but Mads, Jude and Cosmo especially. Mads and Cosmo's relationship came from nothing, only really moving forward in the beginning because of how determined Cosmo was but not pushing as that just takes everything ten steps back where Mads is concerned. Here we get to read the culmination of their relationship, their bond becoming stronger and their family even bigger. The dyads may have their own mates now but Mads' and Jude's connection remains true.
The storyline that has been developing across the series involving the witch terrorist group, The Red Cloth, finally reaches it's climax as they show their true powers and Mads works to keep the promise he made to Bobby Anderson the last time they saw each other. This book isn't without it's upsetting scenes (please read the trigger warnings given by the author) as memories are shared from Mads and Jude's past as well as a several pretty intense battle scenes that affect both the characters in the book and the reader.
Michele's writing is absorbing from the very start, drawing you into the world she has created and grabbing you with the fabulously entertaining characters and engaging scenes throughout the book. I'm just hoping it's not the last we hear from this group as I've come to love every one of them but Mads's snarky attitude is the one to miss the most. This is a series to be read/listened to in order as there is a series plot arc and relationship developments throughout
A fitting end to a fantastic series
