Summary

A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring John Moffatt as the great Belgian detective.

Poirot has always hated visiting the dentist, but this time his check-up is painless and soon over. As he leaves Mr Morley's surgery, he observes a woman wearing patent leather shoes with large buckles. She catches one of the buckles on the taxi door and wrenches it off, and as Poirot hands it back, he is reminded of the children's rhyme 'One, two, buckle my shoe'.

Back home, Poirot is astonished to receive a call from Chief Inspector Japp, informing him that Mr Morley has shot himself. There was no reason for him to commit suicide, and Poirot believes he was murdered, but who would want to kill an inoffensive dentist? To find out, Poirot must pick up sticks and lay them straight...

As Poirot starts to dig and delve, the solution seems apparent. But with so many suspects, and a wealth of motives to digest, he has a long way to go before his plate's empty...

Nice Job. But some stories are too similar.

Just like Miss Marple's few stories, some of Poirot's stories are also repeating..... But it's still nice to listen.

Another Excellent Agatha Christie

The BBC are top form with this collection of A C productions. The brilliant J Moffat is par excellence as a radio Poirot bringing alive in voice mode our beloved super sleuth.

Great

Another brilliant production with J Moffat as Poirot, he is much better on the radio than David Suchet,
Also nice to hear Philip Jackson, im waiting for a radio production with Moffat, Hugh Fraser and Jackson, definitely the best combination!

Love it

John Moffatt is great as Poirot. This is a lovely full cast dramatization of the Agatha Christie book. Also includes Philip Jackson as Inspector Japp - he played Japp opposite David Suchet in the Poirot TV series. A lovely story with some good actors voicing the characters.

Wish it was longer

Great as always, just could do with about 8 more hours of it haha. Great atmosphere and voices.

For great fans

It was fine but only for those who know the story - it was a bit rushed and I lost the plot during the listening. But I loved the voice of Hercules Poirot - perfectly matched
