Summary
Don't sell your soul to the Devil. Take out a loan, instead!
She may be deceased, but Darcie Rose visits Earth often. Substituting into the bodies of those who loan their soul to the Devil, she's Satan's top employee.
But when her latest possession goes wrong, she's trapped in the realm of the living, facing the ex-fiancé who betrayed her and caused her death.
Worse, that breaks one of Lucifer's only two rules...and she's involuntarily toeing the other. Not to mention that she accidentally resurrected a taxidermic fox amidst the undead chaos.
Can Darcie escape her Hell-on-Earth and figure out who summoned her before Luci's henchman arrives to drag her and her zombie fox back to Hell? Or, will she have the devil to pay?
From internationally best-selling author L.B. Carter comes book one in the Loan Soul series, a dark romantic paranormal fantasy with a sardonic twist! A captivating and darkly humorous listen for fans of Supernatural, Sabrina, iZombie, and Good Omens.
Join sassy condemned soul Darcie, her quirky, undead taxidermic sidekicks Dash the fox and Blue the lizard, and broody, mysterious Demon Vin on a hellacious adventure that has fans laughing out loud, crying out in surprise, and dying for more!

Unique and highly entertaining
This book takes a deal with the devil to other heights! With a unique storyline, plenty of dark humour and suspense, this is a paranormal story you won't want to miss. Excellent job done by the narrator, she really brought the story to life.

Darcie works as a substitute soul
Darcie works as a substitute soul and her newest assignment throws her into her past which is suppose to be a big no-no. I found the book to be different as it wasn't so serious and at times quite funny.

Fantastic first in series
Darcie works as a substitute soul for Lucifer. Darcie has completed ninety eight assignments successfully. This new job has her jumping from body to body with no information or back up. She also discovers the ability to animate the animals she has worked on as a taxidermist. Things are getting really strange. L B Carter has created a fantastic world. I look forward to listening to more by this author. The choice of narrator is excellent.

Really funny
I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, unique, and down right fun to listen to. The fact that there is nothing but original storyline and characters just makes it such a great story. The narrator was good too. Id recommend this listen to anyone.

Brilliant
Darcy Rose has been dead for a year but she often visits earth where she’s a substitute for those who have sold their souls to the Devil. I love Darcy and the fact she gets all the metaphors muddle up. When she’s sent to possess a body the slurppppp is so funny I couldn’t help but giggle. I’m hoping there’s more in the series to come as it’s going to be fun when she has to right all the wrongs she caused. L.B. Carter is another new author to me and she did not disappoint ,.Kate Marcin narrated all the characters perfectly.

Book two is on my TBR after this book!
I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.
This book is so unique and highly funny! It’s almost a genre of its own with its unusual storyline of who done it (in an opposite kind of way!) in a paranormal world. Darcie Rose takes possession of bodies to complete the deals the devil has made and only has to not break the two rules but in this story nothing seems to be going right. Omg the world that’s created is absolutely fantastic especially in hell and Darcie herself is a character that is so easy to love. She’s quirky but totally in an adorable way, she’s strong and sassy too! Definitely have the next book on my TBR pile after that ending too! Just wow!

Original Concept
Content: mostly clean (a few suggestive comments) and some language
Maybe it was just me, but it took a minute to get the concept of the souls on loan. That said, once I did get out, I enjoyed it. I think it's an original idea. I like the idea of hell being all the things we hate, like toilet paper the wrong way and beings stuck on dial up. Fun read.

Light-hearted
What does a damned soul do when she doesn’t really want to stay in Hell? She joins a soul swapping program! A person could trade some time in Hell for the damned soul going into his/her body and earning his/hers something that benefits the person, like a promotion or an award. That way the damned soul can feel like she is still ‘alive’. But her 100th swap goes drastically wrong, in ways she never imagined. A fun book to listen to, with a great narrator!

So good!
What happens after death? Well if you’re lucky, you could get a job in the soul loan program, working for Lucifer himself. Things go awry with the program, and Darcie finds herself trapped. Will she be forever stuck in her new Hell-on-Earth situation?
I absolutely love this fun new book by L.B. Carter. The storyline is original and the characters are likable. The humor woven throughout definitely made it even more entertaining.
Kate Marcin really delivered with this performance. She brought out the characters personalities perfectly.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Unique storyline laced with humour
I really enjoyed this innovative take on possession and selling your soul to the devil. Darcie Rose worked as a taxidermist when she was alive, but the circumstances of her death have her in Hell working for Lucifer in his soul exchange program. Darcie’s job is to temporarily possess people who have loaned their soul to the devil but when a job goes awry, she ends up with a reanimated fox and a zombie lizard as sidekicks and the Devil’s henchman on her tail. Darcie is sassy, funny and has her hands full dealing with Hell’s petty annoyances, and trying to sort out the mess she finds herself in. This fast-moving story is well written, has an unusual plot, great characters and is thoroughly entertaining. The narration of the audiobook is great, Kate Marcin brings the story to life and gives the characters individual voices that shows their personalities well. I look forward to listening to the next audiobook and seeing where this story will lead next.

Intriguing spin on what happens in H*ll
Darcie is a poor soul who is just trying to make the best of her time in hell.
This book is one of a kind in its take on what could happen in hell.
Honestly, it took me awhile to get into the story, but now I can't wait to see how Darcie handles her next adventure!

A bit of Dirty Fun
This book is wonderful and hilarious .Darcy is a pretty nutty protagonist and I loved her and her fox . I have been listening to a few of Marcin's works recently and she is quickly becoming a favorite narrator. I look forward to the next book.

Unique paranormal story
I can honestly say that this story was unique and very different to several hundreds of other audiobooks that I’ve listened too. Darle met her untimely demise early and she’s been having to be a loaner of other souls. The zombie animals was different for me and it was funny to
Imagine as well. I struggled a bit with the story as it started off a bit slow, but it does pick up pace. The narrator did a well job portraying Darcie as well.

Very Unique and Fun!
This is the first book in a new and unique paranormal series. The story starts slow and picks up with a mystery of who is medleying with the soul loan program Darcie has been working for. The main character is funny and outspoken and is trying really hard to do her job to the best of her ability with no guidance.
Narration is well done and brings the story to life.
Darcie has ended up in hell after an accident that took her life. The details about the annoying things that happen to her when she is trying to write a report for her job are hilarious. This book is very entertaining and the more you read the more hooked you get. I love the unusual Zombie animals!
I’m really looking forward to the second book. I have no clue how she will be able to fix the mess she is involved in.

One loan soul
I loved this book 1 in A Loan Soul series! The main character Darcie is hilariously quirky and hard not to love! You follow Darcie as she works for the devil in the soul loan program, hosting bodies who have made deals with the big man. The characters and storyline are well developed and quick paced so you never get bored! I can’t wait to see how she cleans up this mess in book 2!
