Summary

The third book in the Carly Moore series by Denise Grover Swank.

The dead can’t speak.

After months of living in the Smoky Mountains town of Drum, Tennessee, Carly knows firsthand the financial hardship the citizens face. Still, she can’t muster the same excitement as everyone else when town patriarch Bart Drummond breaks ground on his new resort that promises more jobs and money.

But the project comes to a screeching halt when the construction crew unearths a grisly discovery — an unmarked grave. The discovery threatens Carly’s ex-boyfriend when the authorities learn the body belongs to his old girlfriend who had supposedly left town…and Wyatt is suspect number one.

Carly’s sure Wyatt’s innocent, even if the rest of the town, and more importantly, the sheriff’s department, is ready to lock him up. Carly has moved on from Wyatt, but now he’s asking for her help to clear his name. In exchange, he’ll tell her what he knows about his father. Information that will help her bring Bart down.

But danger lurks around every corner, and as Carly puts her life on the line to help the man who betrayed her, she begins to question everything and everyone around her…especially Wyatt Drummond.

EXCEPTIONAL STORY!

Highly recommend this entire series. Start with Book 1 and grow with the characters in each new release. Shannon McManus is so talented and makes listening a true pleasure.

Good storyline

While I would have liked some more development in the main background Story, I was very happy with the mystery covered and uncovered in this book. Many questions I had since book one have been answered and leave me ready to dive into book two.

Easy Listening- But Far Fetched.

The main character gets more unlikeable each book. I enjoy the story, and other characters, but Carly annoys me. Every little thing sets her off, and she is instantly offended by the slightest thing. It is also ridiculous that the town has just accepted her as a private investigator even though they don’t know her, and she has absolutely no background or credentials in it.

another winner

life in this small little town is never dull that's for sure, just when Carly thinks things are going well a dead body is discovered at the new construction site. the questions start rolling in... this installment will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting to know who it is, who did it, and why is the body there

Another Great Carly Story

In the ongoing storyline of Carly trying to figure out what's going on in Drummond. she manages to keep getting in tight situations. Denise Grover Swanks is a fantastic writer and I can't wait for the next book. Shannon McManus always does a wonderful narration.

Don't waste your money

Wow, Carly thinks she's above reproach and will not get over her petty 3 week "relationship" and "broken heart" so much that the series is ruined for me at this point. I will not waste any more money to hear about poor Carly whining constantly, but living the double standard by lying and deceiving all of the other characters. You just cannot like Carly and Marco. They're too damn annoying!
