Summary

Ant: as the old Chinese proverb says, 'Good things come in pairs.'

Dec: and as another Chinese proverb says, 'If you've been in a double act with your best mate for 30 years, why not write a book about all your most memorable moments in three decades of showbusiness?'

Ant: less catchy that one, isn't it?

Dec: but no less true. And after three decades together, we've written that book. Covering everything from a pirate radio storyline in Byker Grove through to the biggest shows on telly, this is our story.

Ant: thirty years, eh? Amazing.

Dec: absolutely. Especially when you consider we are both still 27 years old.

Ant and Dec hold a special place in the hearts of TV viewers everywhere. This is their epic story, with never-before-seen photography and the very best tales from their 30 years in TV.

From their modest beginnings in Byker Grove through to their 'unique' time as pop stars and an award-laden TV career, those three decades have flown by in the blink of an eye. They've also featured an incredible cast of supporting characters, including their first scriptwriter - (an unknown comedian called David Walliams), Saturday night fun and games with countless Hollywood A-listers and celebrities they torture - sorry, work with - every year in the jungle. Told through the lens of every TV show they've made, as well as everything they've learnt along the way, this is the riotously funny journey of two ordinary lads from Newcastle who went on to achieve extraordinary things.

Aw Ant & Dec Made My Day

After being out for lunch yesterday, I was feeling shattered (I have ME and Fibromyalgia) so today I decide to spend the day in bed with Ant & Dec.

Listening to Once Upon A Tyne makes you feel the lads are really just chatting to you and you only, telling you about their life and times of grown up together in the entertainment industry, I think mainly because they are not just read their book they actually speak off the cuff, elaborating on the story they are telling at the time, with Ant’s comedy timing and Dec’s hearty laugh, this audiobook brought me laugh out loud moments and tears to my eyes with heart felt emotional words between them both.

I only buy biographies and I can honestly say this is the best one I’ve listened to so far and I’ve bought over 30. I read their first book when I was at a point in my life when I could actually focus and read a physical book, What A Lovely Pair, for all I read it I could hear the boys speaking, it was my favourite book for many years.

This audiobook is just brilliant, the PDF photo book to accompany the storytelling is a wonderful touch and the nice surprising at the end of them reading this superbly written book is what really made me laugh.

So thank you Ant & Dec for brightening up my day.

Classic Ant & Dec but little substance

This book is performed with real charisma and friendship that only Ant & Dec can give provide.

This book is about the shows that they have worked on SMTV, pop idol, BGT, I’m a celeb and their pop career.

Do not expect much in the way of personal lives or real drama tho which is a shame. I would like to hear more about their personal lives or a real level.

Moneyspinner

No real insights , no honest reflections just an attempt to suck more money from the British public

Vanilla!

I was really hoping for more. I appreciate A & D don't have to air their private lives, but really this was too boring for words. It reads more like a CV than a novel.

brilliantly funny

So glad I downloaded this on Audible and didn't buy book. Having the pair of them tell their story in a way only this pair of cheeky chaps could, made it so much more enjoyable and real. Listening to their banter and hearing them laughing and giggle their way through it made it all the more enjoyable. I had a few good belly laughs too. If you're and Ant and Dec fan, I highly recommneded you download this on Audible..

National Treasures

Love Dec and Ant (e.g Ant & Dec aka Duncan and PJ (e.g PJ & Duncan)) They deliver it well but it is a squeaky clean autobiography, they could never say what really happened as it would effect their image. Not a lot to this story, I could have written it myself

Born to be best friends

I've liked and followed Ant and Dec since SMTV and I've read an actual hard back book on their life, but this audio book was fantastic. For the last few years I've been looking out on audible for the Ant and Dec story, in their own words, and this one does not disappoint. It's funny and informative and even better that it's the two of them narrating it.
