Summary

Her mint and jasmine scent had the wolf going crazy, but the sound of her blood flowing through her veins was making the other animal even more insane. They both wanted her, and I would have to comply.

In a world where vampires, werewolves, and witches run rampant, no one is truly safe. Adela is a normal human in a supernatural world, and that’s how she wishes to stay.

At the end of her shift one night, she takes a shortcut home, not thinking about her safety. She runs into an elderly man that promises her a gift if she would help him get to his house just on the other side of the woods.

Taking a chance on an old man, she takes him home. Little does she know that the gift comes with a price - a price she’s not ready to pay.

Adela not only enters the supernatural world; she runs straight through it and crashes into everything in her way. With the help of her friends, Gabriel and Millicent, she tries to adjust to her new life.

Just when she thinks she has enough problem to deal with, a series of big revelations continue to unveil, and now she has to curb her bloodlust, fight off enemies, and engage in a love life that is double the trouble.

How will Adela get through this crappy situation she now calls life?

This supernatural story full of twists will surely keep you at the edge of your seats. Grab a copy now!

I did enjoy this story... but...

I felt this story had a lot of promise, though at times felt it was a little cluttered and disjointed. I enjoyed the idea of the story though really wished Adela would catch a break! Narration was really well done!

Something different

This was nothing like what I’ve read before. It’s so different from the usual shifter books I read/listen to. Good characters. Excellent narration.

Disjointed and slow

I received a free audible code for this book. I struggled through petty much the whole thing. The editing needs real work. There are discrepancies in time lines and descriptions. There are scenes where one word is repeated so many times that it gets irritating halfway through. There are some good ideas in the book, but it felt like they weren't properly developed. In the end it feels like most of the ideas don't blend into one story. The solemate arc doesn't make sense and the one love scene didn't fit into the story. The book could have been really good if it was developed/edited better.

Cliffhanger

I had to push through this one. The story was ok and could have been better. The writer seems like she had a bunch of ideas and mushed them all together which made for the story to jump ALL over the place. I had to rewind a bunch because I though I had jumped ahead of the story. When in reality the plot jumps all over the place. Then it ends in a cliffhanger and now I have no idea how it’s going to end because the other book is not an audiobook. Overall when this was over I felt left hanging and disappointed.

Warning...cliffhanger

Interesting, yet unsatisfactory story. Clifhanger. I kept hoping for some joy, yet it kept getting more depressing.

I’m gonna give this a 3 star

I’m gonna give this a 3 star but it would have had a 5 star if it wasn’t a love triangle soul mate or mate thing going on. I wasn’t in a mood for that so I couldn’t finish it. I will change this review once I’m able to return and give a proper review then in the future but for now it will stay at 3 star. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Free code

Got this from a free code. Maybe it’s only me but I felt that the story was SO slow and all over the place. Had the author built on the significance of the heroine’s experience and probably a simple plot before introducing twists, maybe I would have liked it more. As it is, it was a “meh” for me. Sorry.

Chaotic and Juvenile

This was my first audiobook by Anne Marshall and I was a little disappointed. The story was all over the place, which made it seem chaotic and juvenile. The heroine was so indecisive, making sporadic decisions that were detrimental for others, and childishly speaking out of turn. The cliffhanger ending was nonsensical. The story was just not my cup of tea and I say that having read and enjoyed many paranormal and fantasy stories. Gracia Gillund’s narrating was okay.

Not for me

The narration for this book was good, but I just couldn’t get into it. I finally started to like it towards the last 2 hours where it got pretty interesting.

Disappointed

Started off interesting but then took turns into areas I didn't care for that were never hinted in the info of the book. Don't care for trists or relationships beyond two people. Unique story and creative liberties are to be credited regardless.

Once Bitten

Good beginning, sad that the story ended with a cliffhanger. Looking for the next story to see what happens next.
