Jacqui Furneaux is one of the World’s great adventurers.
She hitch-hikes, rides buses, trains, boats, yachts and planes, but mainly rides her twenty five year old and much loved Royal Enfield motorcycle around the world without a plan. She doesn't just write about her myriad exploits, she invites you into her heart and mind. I found myself laughing out loud, other times breath caught and tears in my eyes.

A highly enjoyable audio book from motorcyclist and author Jacqui Furneaux. I feel as though I travelled every mile with her and lived each experience, so expressive and honest is the author. I particularly enjoyed that she narrates with feeling her own written words, giving us listeners deeper insight into her emotional highs and lows, the laughs and tears, the countries she travels through and the wonderful people she has a knack of meeting en route. It’s fair to say she lands herself in quite a few humorous ‘pickles’, and she treats absolutely everything with an open curiosity. She clearly loves life on the road. Although this is the author’s second book of her Royal Enfield journeys, it is completely standalone. That said, I would recommend the first book too. I admire the author’s bravery - not just in her travels, nor her age, or fearlessness, but for her open heart and good humour, both of which shine through. Well worth a vicarious adventure via her own voice. Most of all, though, as a woman in my 70s too, the author proves it’s never too late to have an adventure.
