Summary

Jack thought his greatest challenge would be reaching the shores of the lost continent, then the perks and loot would just roll in. It so happened that a hail of unexpected gifts from Fate rained down on him, like water from a leaky bucket. But Fate is a sneaky thing. Its gifts can just as easily pummel you to death. Now Jack is a fugitive, pariah, the living dead. And that's just in reality. In the game, the Gods themselves have turned against him.

However, the Gods still don't know who they're messing with.

Good book, more fat shaming...

This book is a little more predictable and has a very popular trope in Hollywood that should be gotten rid of, or at least used less, but it wraps up fairly well and keeps your interest for the most part.

Excellent narration, epic tale

Picked up the first book elsewhere and loved it straight away. The readers voice is a perfect fit and very easy to listen to. Really adds to the already great story for an immersive audio experience.

Getting dangerous

This book picks up right where the last left off.

Another great mix of how the real world overlaps with the VR world, two stories merging a bit.

The only negative that I can see is that I don't want this to turn out to be like any Elminster series where the character can do anything. Stay with the 'game mechanics', if you will.

Great mix of Ready Player 1 and The Book of Eli

The narrator's calm demeanor sets the mood and the tone for the story. Jack's personality and intelligence are intentionally calm allowing the reader to fill in the blank with his or her imagination. Easy story to follow with fun twists.

Similar to last book but series keeps improving

I am enjoying the evolution of Jack the Tramp as an unconventional hero. love the hints throughout this book of the overarching backstory that will be revealed as the series comes to a close.

Half good. Half terrible.

Everything in reality which often seems more gamelike than the actual game, is gripping and exciting.

Everything that happens in the game, is just boring. If he isnt effortlessly slaughtering enemies with a sword that cuts through everything and ignores hitpoints while being protected by a vague non specific healthbar allowing him to take infinite damage. He is solving every problem in the most contrived manner possible. Best example of that, when he was fighting the vibe summonibg priestesses, he really had dozens if solutions using his pre-existing abilities. But decided not to use them just so he could justify a desperate hail mary of using the overpowered yet unknown magic item he just got.

Honestly it feels like the author is actively resentful of the litrpg part of the book.

Pretty good

Good ideas, nice pace , and different. Spoiler in next part

After the main girl bit the dust I had to stop. I loved the to characters so much together that I couldn't continue, so well done.

Looks like their world is about to change

there's a bit of sadness in this one. but there's also lots of Triumph. this well-balanced the book ends on a cliffhanger and I'm not certain when the next volume comes out.

meh.

it got very boring, even 2 hours from the end of the book it couldn't keep me interested. If your looking for a Litrpg there are better choice to pick from. out of the 400+ books I've gone through I've only not finished 10 books and this was one of them.
