About this listen

The Omega War made every omega the property of the government. Now, my body doesn't belong to me.

I need permission to eat, to sleep, to breathe. The only thing I have left is my heart, but when the winter pack save me from a dangerous situation, they might take that from me too.

For Harper, joining the winter pack is a risk, one she doesn’t have a choice in. Being owned by an alpha pack means following the omega creed, a set of laws to prevent omegas from having any influence.

For the winter pack, Harper is a complication they’re not sure they need. After all, omegas are notorious for manipulating alphas. That’s why they’re under the strict control of the Omega Compound. It’s for the good of society.

But as Harper settles in, it becomes clear that the government has been hiding the truth—about omegas, and about the mating bond they feel growing every day.

Omega Found contains references to assault, sexual abuse and suicide that may be disturbing for some listeners.

overall I enjoyed this. plenty of spice, some character development, alphas who are dealing with their own issues coming together to help heal a broken omega. hit some good tropes.
I didnt realise until half way in that this was a standalone. I thought the pacing was good for the first half but then there was way too many resolutions of problems which weren't justified by the conversation that were had. i.e. Dev getting over his issues, Gabe and Ace resolving their stuff, it was all explained by the presence of the omega, but I feel like it could have been drawn out a bit longer.
I thought based on many people saying "check the triggers" that this book would be a lot darker than it actually was, there are more references to darker themes than detailed descriptions of those themes IMHO.
Overall though a good read, especially if you just want a quick hit of a why choose/omegaverse/trauma bonding romance with some decent spice.

Pretty good book

I was a little apprehensive listening to this as some of the themes were very similar to The Handmaids Tail. However I was surprised at the sensitive handling of a subject matter developing in real life in some “ developed “ countries around the world. A women’s autonomy over her reproductive rights should never be decided by middle aged white so called “ Christian “ men.

The performance was stellar, really loading the voices with emotion and bringing the characters to life.
But some of the writing was really strange, overly unnecessarily detailed, eg a whole description on how she rubs dirt on a white shirt while she's hiding in a hole just to be found in the very next sentence by dogs.

Lots of strange details but a great performance

Fell into this book on a random browse and really glad I did. The characters won me over within the first two chapters. The author has not shied away from some difficult adult themes but has written them with compassion and great care. First book in a series of three and I inhaled them all, whilst they run true to the genre they also provided a refreshing twist which I personally enjoyed.

Great characters

The book was the perfect mix of feelgood and sad/hard story. The characters in this book is SO LOVEABLE. Harper is a strong omega who has been through alot and her 4 alphas are Perfect for her.

Worth a listen!!
