Summary

Named a "national institution" by George Orwell, Dickens offers his most popular tale, of the orphan who is reared in a workhouse and runs away to London. A novel of social protest, a morality tale, and a detective story.

A great classic

We enjoyed this story. My son enjoyed the action, a character he could empathize with, and the get plot.

not a Dickens fan

got to chapter 12. melancholy drones after a while. narrator makes me dislike oliver too squealy and pathetic, made him more spineless, than pitiable.. granted if your life needs some reminders of how irritatingly cruel people can be, enjoy.

narrator

The narrator of this book was incredible. The book itself I am sure has been reviewed enough.
