Summary

An Irreverent look at fitness in your 50s.... A real tale of a guy in his 50s who got fit the easy way - run a bit...have fun a bit...

This is not a diet book nor an exercise regime, it’s a sidestep onto a conveyor belt that, if you choose to stay put, will lead you to weight loss, a better state of health and an increase in overall fitness. Holy crap, that sounds boring...but bear with me. I hit 57 somewhere between fat and obese, looked at myself in the mirror and decided I better do something now or prepare for an early exit.

This isn’t meant to be a book that tells you what to do, it’s more of a diary...a log...an adventure that has opened up a new door in my life. If any part of it helps, informs or makes you smile...that’s a bonus.

Great read!

A gentle, absolutely no pressure retelling of a guys recognition of potential impending mortality, and his approach to preventing this.
Told with, humour, knowledge and with some real life references, which I'm sure many of us will identify with.
A great wee read which I'm sure will inspire some(hopefully me!) to adopt a healthier lifestyle, without cutting our all of the nice treats we all love so much. I really enjoyed the read and highly recommend!!

Beautifully narrated by the author.

Can't beat the Scottish accent! Lot's of good tips---things that are important which need to be right & things to avoid & save some money. Lots of fun & proving anybody can do it with motivation & taking it slowly to start with. Looking forward to the next in the series "Old Bloke Goes-------------?"

Easy reading

You can jog while listening to this wee book which is a gentle introduction on how one man lost weight without expensive equipment. It's a tongue in cheek commentary and a lot of the things he describes is a common sense attitude to getting healthier, an enjoyable listen, and read

Love the Scottish Accent.

Read by the author, who hails from the west of Scotland, this wee gem is packed full of useful info about running and life. Funny and irreverent indeed, it lifted my spirits and got me interested in getting a little fitter while still having a beer in the bath. Ha.
