Summary

Darryl is on a quest for peace. His chance at fatherhood was taken from him long ago, and an IED in Iraq ensured he would never get another. In Big Falls, Oklahoma, the McIntyre brothers hire him to keep an eye on their beautiful cousin Sophie in case her criminal ex shows up. He doesn't expect to fall head over heels.

Dr. Sophia McIntyre's life was blown apart by a drug dealing ex who cost her her job and nearly her medical license. She goes to Big Falls because she has nowhere else to go. And the minute she gets there, things start to get better.

Is it because of that letter to Santa her Aunt Vidalia convinced her to write?

Within days she meets a beautiful man with a deeply wounded soul. And oddly, she finds herself giving him the same advice the town Santa gave to her: to try believing again, and if it's too much to believe, then just try hoping.

Love, magic, and miracles ensue.

Because this is Big Falls, Oklahoma. Miracles are an everyday occurrence around here. Especially at Christmastime.

Believe again with Maggie Shayne.

An expanded author's cut edition of the story was previously published in Buckles, Boots and Mistletoe.

Good read and decent narration..

This was a cute story, insta-love and all that because it was a novella. What I don’t get was why Skylar was thrown into it. He was never seen and never heard from so he was really a non-existent player in the story. I did find that to be a little silly. Darryl could just have been hired as a bouncer, without all the cloak-and-dagger of him being hired to protect Sophia from an ex-fiancé.

The love story was nice, anyway. I like Sophia and Darryl. And I liked that Santa part of it and all the wishes, dreams, wants, desires, whatever, that all came to pass.

The sex was fade-to-black and there was no swearing.

As to the narration: The first time I TRIED to listen to Traci Odom was for Jennifer Ashley’s first Shifters Unbound book, Pride Mates, but I didn’t get very far since she was so awful. This time she was a little better. She did TRY to make the men sound like men, to which she did an okay job. I would listen to her again, in her newest narrations, but I still wouldn’t go out of my way to look for her books.

Letter to Santa Brings True Love

If you could sum up Oklahoma Christmas Blues, Book 1 of the McIntyre Men Series in three words, what would they be?

Romantic, satisfying--delightful

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the entire book so much but when the Darryl and Sophie write letters to Santa it brought back many wonderful memories about letters I wrote to Santa as a child.

What does Traci Odom bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Traci's voice is so pleasing and full of so many reflections. She keeps the listener totally involved in this story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Never give up believing in Santa Claus

Any additional comments?

I was given this audio book in exchange for an honest review. I hope to get more codes for this series because this book was short and sweet and I want to hear more!

Believe in the magic of Santa.

This is a book designed to make us believe in the magic of Santa and Christmas once again. While writing a letter to Santa might not necessarily get you everything on your list in reality, this was a really cute story. I enjoyed the transformation in Sophie and Darryl after they gave in and wrote their letters to Santa.

Traci Odom did pretty well narrating. She managed to create distinct voices for many of the characters, which is much appreciated.

Good story

The narrator was good except for her male voice. The story is really good and leaves you with the warm and fuzzies.

Good, clean Christmas romance

This book will charm your heart! Lighthearted story of a doctor/ bartender and a soldier/ protection agent/ bouncer who meet in a small town.
