Story
April 1950: The rusting hulk of a steam locomotive rises from the deep waters of a Montana lake. Inside is all that remains of three men who died forty-four years before. But it is not the engine nor its grisly contents that interest the people watching nearby. It is what is about to come next.... 1906: For two years, the western states of America have been suffering an extraordinary crime spree: a string of bank robberies by a single man who then cold-bloodedly murders any and all witnesses, and then vanishes without a trace....

Fantastic
You know you are reading a book of pure fiction however, once you start reading from chapter one you are drawn into the book and carried along for the ride. Like a bystander, watching. You are almost side by side with all the characters until the end..
So, now you know how the story goes, you still want to go back to chapter one and start ove.

Spoiled by sloppy research
Whilst I really enjoyed this book, I just can't get over the £100 note! There has obviously been good research done for locations used in this book, so why spoil it by just checking what denominations of currency is used in the countries in the story. This isn't the first time the fictional £100 note has been used in a Clive Cussler story
