Story
My name is Mike Raven. I hunt nightmares. Demons murdered my parents when I was eight. Turns out my folks were paranormal investigators, and hell always settles its scores. Naturally I decided to join the family business. For two decades, I've studied the occult and traveled the world fighting monsters. But my biggest challenge lay ahead. From the moment Celeste stepped into my office, I knew she was in trouble. Her father had promised her soul to a powerful demon on the day she was born. Now, 21 years later, the forces of darkness were gathering to collect their long-awaited prize.

I go by Crowley, no last name. The Fae took that from me when they tore me from my crib and turned me into a creature of blood and shadow. My kidnappers raised me, taught me magic, and made me their Hound. For years I served them, but a cur can only be brought to heel for so long. I've broken my chains by betraying my adoptive mother, the powerful sorceress Fuamnach. Since then, her assassins have been hunting me - but I’ll cut a swathe of destruction through them if it means gaining back a piece of the humanity they stole from me. Vengeance will have to do.

Summary
Cursed relics. Paranormal terrorists. Apocalyptic cults.
Only one man stands between the agents of darkness...
After his fiancée is slain by a murderous cult, Delta Force Operator Mark Talon dedicates himself to a new mission - hunting down twisted occultists around the globe and stopping them before they can unleash the forces of darkness upon an unsuspecting world.
In Ice Shadows, Talon must head to Norway to stop a Black Metal musician who plans on using an ancient Norse ritual to trigger a frozen cataclysm.
Occult Assassin: Ice Shadows is a novella and tells a self-contained Mark Talon adventure set after Damnation Code and Apocalypse Soldier. The story works both as an introduction to the series and a continuation of the previous full-length volumes. No plot points or twists of the first book are given away.

The Ice God meets his match!!
Where does Occult Assassin #2.5 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is a good short story, that has the Occult Assassin traveling to Norway to take on The Ice God. It is a side mission, so does not have the same in depth character development.
What about James Foster’s performance did you like?
James Foster delivers a good performance, as he has on the first two full length books. He has given the Occult Assassin a solid identity and paints a good picture as you listen.

Great series
STORY REVIEW......
This time out Talon is looking to stop a Black Metal musician from using a cursed relic in a ancient Norse ritual. Once again fighting evil to save the world with the help of his wealthy occult specialist friend. The North gods mythology and the cult was well written and researched by Mr. Massa. It added a interesting and important aspect to the story. It's a great short story. Well worth reading.
AUDIO REVIEW......
I found the narrator to be getting better and better as he gets more familiar with the authors style and the characters. Another delight to listen to. I will most definitely will be continuing with reading the series and highly recommend this book for reading.

Stay Away From Talon's Cross-Hairs
Any additional comments?
James Foster really brings William Massa's story to life. In Ice God, the reader is led on a journey to the icy and frigid temperatures of Norway. We're introduced to Mark Talon, an ex Delta Force Operator on a mission of vengeance. From page one Massa shows why he's becoming one of the best indie author's out there. He fills this short story with interesting and developed characters--from Talon and his billionaire associate, to the satanic rock band members they are hunting half way across the world. Did I mention there's also a cute marketing woman named Kristin that Talon is trying to save? This girl can ski!
Ice God moves like a bullet exploding from Talon's 9mm glock. And William mixes in just the right amount of action, suspense and character development. This is really impressive considering Ice God is technically a short story.
I've read all of William's books this year and Occult Assassin may be the most exciting series he has planned. I can't wait for Occult Assassin #1.

Great short addition to the series!
I was given this title by the narrator in return for an honest review through Audiobookblast dot com. Ok, legalese done. This is a great short addition to the series. The action was full out, with a suspenseful plot that just kept charging. the continuing story and fleshing out of the occult baddies continue, as does out hero's evolution into a fixer of occult wrongs. James Foster's narration was great as always, bringing the story to life. Any fan of Heath Stallcup's Monster Squad or Evan Currie's Seal Team 13 books will enjoy this series.

Best addition to the series yet!
What does James Foster bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
James Foster is an excellent narrator that adds an extra dimension to the listening experience. Reading the book alone wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable, for me.
Any additional comments?
I have really enjoyed this entire series, but I didn't enjoy book 2 as much as the first. Book 2.5 was excellent! It changed the landscape and the author did a great job of making me feel like I was at the location.

This novella was well written, but, since it intended as an introduction to the series, I will refrain from making premature observations until I have read at least the first book, which, at some point I will do, although from what I did read, I suspect that the treatment of the occult is simplistic and shallow. However, I could be, and hope I am, wrong about this.
There were definitely some positive elements in this novella, however. The writing is very good stylistically, and the story telling is also excellent and engaging. While I didn’t see enough of the characters to get a real sense of them, their development in the story, especially that of the main character, were quite competently done.
The narration was excellent and extremely professional in all aspects. I give this novella 3 out of 5 stars, and the narrator 4 out of 5 stars.

Mayhem in the Black Metal Community
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I definitely would. It was fast paced and high excitement with a great performance.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the villains potentially because I have always been a fan of metal music and it was interesting seeing them in this portrayal.
Which character – as performed by James Foster – was your favorite?
Talon, because after two books and one novella listened to by him his voice is that of Talon.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Beware your Frosty Demise!

The Albino's personal Ragnarök
Would you consider the audio edition of Occult Assassin #2.5 to be better than the print version?
Yes, more life to characters and drama.
What other book might you compare Occult Assassin #2.5 to and why?
The Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn.
Have you listened to any of James Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
He did a good job.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes it was a short novella, good for a one sitting listen.
Any additional comments?
An albino Black Metal band leader is determined to initiate his own personal Ragnarök as payback for the childhood teasing and bullying he received. In the meantime he satisfies his need for vengeance by burning churches and committing murders. Of course there is a major obstacle to his vengeance; Mark Talon.

Any additional comments?
Occult Assassin is another winner from the talented William Massa. This time, the hero is ex-Delta Force Operator and assassin, Mark Talon, a sort of tough guy character. After suffering the loss of the love of his life, he is driven to hunt down megalomaniac occultists, with their own vision of a world filled with darkness. Great audiobook
