When I heard Pestilence - a horseman of the apocalypse - had been set free, I thought returning him to his crypt would be just another job. After all, that’s what watcher angels do - we protect humanity from the creatures that go bump in the night.
Everything changed the instant I locked eyes with her. The fiery red hair rolling in waves down her back and the freckles scattered across her cheeks stole the air from my lungs. I’d been awed by Earth’s wonders before, but she was different. And not just because she is a witch. There was something about the way she looked at me with those bright blue eyes - as if she could see right through me, deep into my very soul.
As much as I know I should walk away, that it's forbidden for angels to become entangled with humans...I can’t. The longer I stay on Earth, the more I feel for the woman, the closer I come to giving in to my temptations. Every stolen glance leaves me more dissatisfied. I want more than just her body - I want her.
First, I’ll have to save humanity, but after that, I’ll be forced to make a choice. Do I walk the path of a good angel? Or do I risk it all - including my grace - for a chance at loving her?
©2021 Amanda Aggie (P)2023 Amanda AggieI love the premise of this story, it is fresh and something I have not seen done before. This book was also very funny. Humor was a nice little surprise in this story and something that is not seen too often in books like this one.
I love how these characters came together and how their relationship evolves even in the middle of so much chaos and with so much at stake. There were some very unexpected twists too.
I recommend this audiobook to anyone who loves PRN, a good dose of humor and clever dialogues. The hot angel and badass witch doesn't hurt it either....LOL.
The narrator did a great job with clear voice and adding personality to the characters.
Fresh and witty
