Summary

From the international best-selling author of Killstreak, The Goblin Wars, The Umbral Blade, and many others...

Steve's just an accountant with a serious MMO addiction.

In the game, the people of Tamernil live under the harsh rule of a vile bureaucrat, and Bokta - an outcast blood witch practicing forbidden magic - has a bold plan to save them all. She'll need to summon a powerful demon, one she's been watching through a scrying mirror for years.

There's just one hitch: the mighty demon she's been watching isn't real. He's a character in Realm of Crafted War, and the man behind the keyboard is a far cry from a savior.

Violently dragged into the world of Realm Online, Steve will have to learn how the hell he's going to survive, all while masquerading as Maxkrannar, the demon Oathbreaker he's supposed to be.

Stuart Thaman writes best-selling epic fantasy and LitRPG with plenty of adventure, lots of action, and characters you'll love. Check out more at stuartthamanbooks.com.

I liked it.

I almost dropped this book, because thru half the book, it is about the MC whining about things and things does not become interessting nor rpg-ish until the second half of the book.
After I have now listened to the second half of the book, I can say that I am waiting for the second book in this series.

Dont sleep with a siren

Your average joe or should i say Steve in this case. Is your average hardcore gamer, with his crappy job and apartment. All he wants to do is play his favorite mmorpg with his friends after work. Little does he know thats exactly whats hes going to get; Just not how hes use too.

This first book doesn't jump right into action, not saying that thats a bad thing. I like the building on the mc, his companions, and the world. I like the litrpg twist that the mc isn't given skills or abilities off the bat or much help in that regard. unsure if the new world is really his beloved game or not the mc has to figure it out for himself.

This book really gets you interested in its world. Seeing the differences that the mc notices from the game he use to play with his computer and now the one with his life is a fun element. Especially when the mc gets a little full of him self because its the only thing he has going for him.

I enjoyed this book by Stuart Thaman. Its funny, the mc's distractions in the middle of danger adds depth to the book making it feel realistic from a mans pov with beautiful women around him.

Also cats. How can you go wrong with cats.

The narrator does a great job. I really like how he does the mc.

MMORPG

Fun lit RPG story, good character building and light romance. Great YA book for adventurers with lively narration. Felt like i was listening to a movie.

Unusual mix of reality and game world

The story premise was interesting, a game character summoning a person into their realm/game because they think they are the battle demon the person plays in an online game, but what the summoner gets is an overweight accountant with no combat skills at all. The story is quite slow in the beginning and really doesn’t get near to being LitRPG until well into the story. The main character is not very likable and he definitely makes some morally questionable decisions, but despite this I did find the story entertaining. I liked the humour and sarcasm the author slipped in, the “real world’ twists and I especially liked the cats. The narration in the audiobook was great, he made the story entertaining and his pace was just right. I will be interested to see how this story plays out in the next audiobook.

Oathbreaker bk1

A fun romp through a realm where life is gamelike. Our hero doesnt know how to be.His friends aren't all that friendly.Even his cats spell doom in a way. It's fun and fantasy, with real life crap tossed in. J. Scott Bennet does a fine job with narration. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Outbreaker

Nothing about this is "Epic". The main crime is subverting fantasy democracy and raising the taxes, nor anything else. All in all this book did not live up as LitRPG in my opinion. The narration is good and clear.

Fun and entertaining!

I like LitRPG books, and this one was very entertaining! Cheeky and fun. The story flows nicely and the narration is well done. I look forward to listening to the rest of the series to see where the story goes from here.

good story

good story but a bit repetitive. could have done without the constant reminders of how hot the girls are. we get it. looking past that the story is a good one and fairly fast paced. enough to keep you reading. I can't stand the narrator, but I seem to be alone in that. oh well. overall worth a casual read!
