Summary

For decades, nuclear Armageddon hanged over us like a mighty sword.

Some said it would be the war to end all wars.

They were wrong. The real battle against extinction was just beginning.

International best-selling author Bobby Akart, one of America's favorite storytellers, delivers up-all-night thrillers to listeners in 245 countries and territories worldwide.

This is how the world ends. Not with a bang, but with many nuclear bombs detonated around the planet. It was no longer a topic of conversation around the dinner table as in years past.

Nobody was prepared, including the world's governments. Yet the threat was always real, and the devastation was predictable.

The damage was incalculable. Millions died at the points of impact. Nuclear winter spread across the globe. A rapidly cooling climate shocked humanity and all living things...to their death.

Akart's new Nuclear Winter series depicts a world on the edge of nuclear Armageddon. Nuclear Armageddon became reality, and ordinary Americans are paying the price. This is more than the story of nuclear conflict. It's about the devastating effects wrought by a nuclear winter. Our possible future is seen through the eyes of the Albright family whose roots stretch back to the early settlement of the Florida Keys. While they fight for survival, they trek across a rapidly deteriorating landscape wrought with danger from both the elements and their fellow man.

It was not our fight, but it became our problem.

Bobby Akart has delivered intense, up-all-night thrillers that will have you whispering "just one more chapter" until the end.

To much filler

It seems every action has to be explained, all historical info on places given. It doesn’t add to the story only dragging it out. I can’t help but think it’s to lengthen the book. Seriously, for example, who needs a detail explanation for where the term “mother load” came from. I ended up skipping half of that sort of diatribe making the actual good parts maybe 3 hours of listening. Done with Akart.

too short

Love the story. Like all Bobby Akart's work it is well researched, and no one tops Kevin Pierce as a narrator. However, this is not a novel. It is a novella at the price of a full book. Shame on you Mr. Akart.

Way too short

Love his books. This is a great series. Just way too short to have to wait for the next one to come out.

Will not disappointment!!

I purchased Armageddon before it was available on audiobook because I could not wait to hear what happens next. Im now anxiously awaitinf Book 3!! Ive read and enjoyed many of his series, but this storyline is different. It is gripping an unpredictable with connected characters in muliple locations each with their own plot. In my opinion, this is some of his best work. As I wait until April 22nd, I started the New Madrid series just to keep my mind off this family and Nuclear Winter.

Great realistic book about survival

This book provides a realistic outlook on what to expect from society after a nuclear attack. It even provides good advice on what to scavenge and what to avoid.

To close for comfort

It’s almost scary the way the bombs start off. With the Middle East and the reality of what’s going on now. It’s not far fetched. I like these kinds of books, author is awesome and the performer is awesome. His voice takes you into everything he reads.
