Get ready for the unmissable new thriller from the #1 internationally bestselling author of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
In seven days Jet Mason will be dead.
Jet is the daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Woodstock, Vermont. Twenty-seven years old, she’s still waiting for her life to begin. She’ll do it later, she always says. She has time.
Until, on the night of Halloween, Jet is violently attacked by an unseen intruder.
She suffers a catastrophic brain injury. The doctor is certain that within a week, she’ll suffer a deadly aneurysm.
Jet never thought of herself as having enemies. But now she looks at everyone in a new light: her family, her ex-best friend turned sister-in-law, her former boyfriend.
She only has seven days, and as her condition deteriorates she has only her childhood friend Billy for help. But nevertheless, she’s absolutely determined to finally finish something:
Jet is going to solve her own murder.

Great book shame about the narrator

Off-putting

I found the narration of Billy quite irritating, it felt like listening to Marge Simpson for many hours. The ‘twists’ are easy to work out and the story wasn’t exactly gripping. I thought of stopping and even returning a number of times but preserved, still sadly not a book for me. If you like a true phycological thriller then this isn’t for you.
Sadly, not a fan

I thought the story was pretty good, even though it seems like a lot was packed in it, and maybe could have been streamlined a bit more.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks and I have to say, the narration made it really difficult to get into the book. The whiny overly dramatic characters voices meant it was really hard to take anything seriously. The main character felt like she was 16 when she is actually 27, which again made it difficult to believe everything she was doing.
All in all, the book is not bad, but I wouldn’t say it made me want to read/listen to more books from Holly Jackson for now.
Decent story, not so good narration
