About this listen

An instant USA Today bestseller! 'I'll never look at a cello quite the same way…' Jodi Picoult #1 New York Times bestseller 'Sexual tension so palpable, it'll snag you by the chin and call you a good girl' Ashley Posten, The Dead Romantics

Gwen Jackson is a musical prodigy – but she fought hard for everything she now has.

Xander Thorne comes from musical royalty. He’s a genius – but it all fell in his lap.

Already tensely opposed, when Gwen takes the spot of First Chair in the New York Pops Orchestra – a position Xander has coveted for years – their hostility goes up a notch… and their chemistry on stage goes off the scale.

Forced to find a grudging respect for one another’s music, suddenly they are box office dynamite. And as the respect turns to admiration and then heated attraction, they must decide – will a note of discord ruin their perfect harmony or can this fragile romance reach its breathtaking climax?

'A phenomenal talent' Sarah Hawley, A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon

'Soto is a virtuoso at deploying swoons, spice and laughs' Sierra Simons, A Merry Little Meet Cute

Rock star

Loved the character build ups and how well they truly fit with each other even though they wanted to deny it.
There are some prime exquisite moments that made me squeak. 🥹 The spice was delicious and on par, their tension palpable, their connection so real and raw.

The atmosphere was immersive and I imagined myself in the world of music and how it would be playing in an orchestra (I'm not musical xD). I revealed in this unique world and how much passion goes into creating music.

The prose is simple but gifts us with some beautiful musical synonyms and comparisons. The plot is tied together well and made me very invested in their story!

"All at once they fit together, all harmonies and easy tempos, and answering each other's questions." ❤️

This book will stay with me for some time especially that cello lesson and the concert!
