In February 2014, Reni Eddo-Lodge posted an impassioned argument on her blog about her deep-seated frustration with the way discussions of race and racism in Britain were constantly being shut down by those who weren't affected by it. She gave the post the title 'Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race'. Her sharp, fiercely intelligent words hit a nerve, and the post went viral, spawning a huge number of comments from people desperate to speak up about their own similar experiences.
Galvanised by this response, Eddo-Lodge decided to dive into the source of these feelings, this clear hunger for an open discussion. I learned so much and it’s still somehow an easy listen
Each chapter is very informative and there are new thoughts I am taking away from all section of the book. I feel like the author has condensed a vague uneasiness I felt into words and expressed it more concisely than I ever could. It is definitely not dry and easy to listen too. I feel like I have new ammo for any discussion on race I decide to enter.
There are no exercises or graphs or anything like that so it works well as an audio book. I found the voice of the narrator pleasant, clear, funny and easy to understand

White people are called to listen
Reni’s frank, honest and open discussion about the history, politics, powers at play perpetuating racism is a book which all white people should read. It shatters the silence, evidences the undoubting realities this is happening in the U.K. and calls each one of us in our own way to do more.

informative.
Really enjoyed it. lots of information about the black british experience and stories which crated a visual timeline. Very hard to listen to at times as it saddens me. Reality is reality so we must play our part.
