Publisher's Summary

When Ohio governor John Kasich ran for president, his powerful message of hope and togetherness struck a chord with American voters. In Two Paths: America Divided or United, he carries that message forward by reflecting on the tumultuous 2016 campaign, sharing his concerns for America and his hopes for our future, and sounding a clarion call to reason and purpose, humility and dignity, righteousness and calm.

"The country never looked so grand and magnificent as it did from 10,000 feet," he writes of his time on the campaign trail, "and it was always a thrilling, faith-affirming thing to look out our window and see the sun splashing across Bryce Canyon in Utah, or the lights of the New York skyline at night as we flew past the Statue of Liberty, or an open field in the heartland that ran as far as our eyes could see.... I'd look out and think what an honor it would be to lead this great nation, what a blessing."

To be sure, the full story of the 2016 presidential race will be written over time, but to understand what it was to be on the front lines of one of the most divisive and corrosive campaign battlegrounds in history, listeners won't find a richer, more thoughtful firsthand account than this one - a frank, refreshing assessment of the American dynamic and a clear path we might follow toward a more promising tomorrow.

As Governor Kasich reminds us, America is great because America is good - and because Americans have stayed true to who we are: one nation, under God, indivisible.

I had hoped for more info on how we get back to where we all want to be as a nation not a play by play of his life. He's a good man, just thought the book would be about the future and not the past.

    "Lifting My Head Up"

The 2016 Presidential election and the first 100 days of the new presidency have been very disappointing to me. As a Vietnam era veteran, born in Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University I wascraised with values similar to Governor Kasich. His thoughts, ideas and values remind me that Ametica is great and we all have a responsibility to maintain and enhance that greatness.

    "Great listen!"

This was my first election as I am now 18, throughout the election John Kasich's words inspired me and made me want to explore a life in politics. This book is very insightful on how his 2016 campaign was ran and what values hold dear to him

    "Disappointing!"
What disappointed you about Two Paths?

The title does not reflect what this book is about at all! John Kasich goes on and on talking about himself, his childhood and all the great things he thinks he has done. Very stereotypical politician stuff about his hard-working parents who taught him great American values, etc. I listened for three hours and it never got any better. I will not be finishing it.

Would you ever listen to anything by John Kasich again?

    No.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narration was good but it was read by the author who was talking about himself so it should be good.

"Looking forward to 2020 Warren v Kasich debates"
Where does Two Paths rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

First, I voted for Kasich TWICE in 2016. So maybe I already knew enough about him that this book did not grab me as much as it will you. I didn't realize how much I disagreed with his politics so I don't know if I would vote fro him in a different election. But his assessment of the last election cycle was encouraging (as was that expressed in the Al Franken book).

PRO: Kasch will be a political force in the future and it is good to know who this man is.
CON: very little in hard answers to the problems that our government is obligated to address.

If you didn't vote for Kasich, you would be well advised to become familiar.

"candidate is a good guy book is mediocre"

the author is obviously a great person and would have made a great president. Wish I'd had read this book before he ran for president. However the book is a little slow at times.
