Great Story Wonderful Narrator Brilliant

I really enjoyed this book, the narrator Mr Pierce really brought the characters to life, their quirky & strange personalities were put across so well by him.
The story was absorbing, the twisted mind of a psychopath, his family & friends was truly horrifying, it made one realise it is nearly impossible to interact in a meaningful & honest way with such people. Their level of denial & justification at times filled me with disbelief. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Shocking Story - but a bit long winded

If you could sum up Son in three words, what would they be?

Shocking, Lengthy, Interesting

What did you like best about this story?

The scrapbooky nature in which the story was told - I really liked that

What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

His narration is really excellent, his accent and telling really draws you in and puts you right in Spokane.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was hard to turn it off, but it was really long and couldn't possibly be listened all the way through in one sitting!

Any additional comments?

its a great book, a shocking story, great narration

Disturbing, but riveting.

OK, it's a long one and I thought I might find it tedious after a while, but no, I was gripped. The narrator is exceptional, that voice. I especially loved his 'Ruth'. I found the descriptions of the attacks a tough listen. Fred Coe confirms my natural suspicion of 'charmers'.

Wow!

Jack Olsen was a fantastic writer and to compliment his writing style and skill, the narration of this book is brilliant and flawless. Lengthy book and loved every single minute of it. A masterpiece of true crime writing. Bought this after listening to another Olsen book, the Misbegotten Son, and this book is just as good.

No, its was long and drawn out, not as interesting as i thought!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

yes, was also slow and dull!

superb

loved this book, Kevin pierce is a big part of the whole thing as far as the listening experience goes. He is brilliant. I'm now looking for more narration by him and glad to say that there are many more. Kevin keeps you right there in the story, I honestly couldn't stop listening to this audio book at every opportunity I had, suffice to say that I am quite sad that I have now finished the book. But I will say this about it, what a great story and what an excellent narration on Kevin pierces part I wholeheartedly recommend.

Not a fan of this book

I found it all a bit too focused on the act of rape and not enough on forensic psychology which I believed this book would be full of ? Just rape after rape and not a lot of content behind sociopathic nature of this man ? It was all his mothers fault ,again didn’t sit well with me. The book contains a lot of research on the crimes that were committed, but felt it lacked substance in respect that I’d have liked to have had more information about Kevin Coe’s ability to manipulate, gaslight and why he still denies these crimes to this day . I believe the writer took considerable effort in researching the actual crimes but it ended up like a really extended YouTube narrative about Kevin Coe that could have been covered in a couple of hours 👎🏻
