Publisher's Summary

Passive aggression. Road rage. Snarky tweets. Queue jumpers. Idiots who are #justsaying. Fat shamers. Victim blaming. Furious waitresses who refuse to sell you a hot dog...

We are ruder than we've ever been. In this incisive and very funny book, Danny Wallace investigates the new wave of rudeness that threatens to overwhelm us. He travels the world, visiting our rudest critics, interviewing psychologists, psychiatrists, bellboys, cab drivers, bin men, barristers, politicians, a limo driver called José and at least one expert in cooked meat production. In doing so he uncovers the hidden truths behind what makes us rude, whether it can be caught and how one small moment of rudeness - like being declined a hot dog - can snowball into disaster. From the jihadist who launched a blistering attack on the "bad manners" of his fellow ISIS militants to the mayor in Bogota who recruited an army of mimes to highlight inconsiderate driving, this is a very funny and powerful exploration into the way humans work and why it is surely time for an antirudeness revolution.

"One of my favourite audible books"

I think I saw a review saying "It doesn't seem that interesting from the title- but it is amazing". This is accurate. Every syllable of Danny's story is engaging, thought-provoking and ultimately a great snapshot of where we currently are as a society. Great stories, great narration and a truly fascinating audiobook.

"Good but ending was a bit flat"

Danny Wallace is great, funny and very pleasant to listen to. Enjoyed it all the way to the end where it just seemed to fall a bit flat. However still a very good listen.

This book was a great listen in the gym, in the car, and just in general.
Danny Wallace narrates in a style which is amusing and clear.
Behind the relatable anecdote and witty comments, the message of the book is profound and important.

    Definitely worth a listen.

"More like this Mr Wallace, please"

If you are reading this waiting for an operation, I hope no one has been rude to the medical staff. Danny Wallace explains the impact rudeness has on our lives. How human temperament can be perceived differently if you are either male/ female. And that if you are impolite you’ll probably earn more money compared to a well-mannered person. Danny even pays a market research company to ascertain people’s view on rudeness, dubbed the Wallace report, and how long they are prepared to wait for a hot dog. Plus loads more.

I’ve read and enjoyed many of Danny’s previous books, the last being ‘Friends like these’ in 2008. Now with two children, this is a comparatively mature book to his previous work, but is also told with his same wry wit.

Whilst it might not have the craziness of ‘Yes Man’, ‘Join Me’, or ‘Are you Dave Gorman?’, Danny Wallace can still tell an engaging story.

The 8-hours whizzed by. Please Mr Wallace, more like this

"Re Rudeness interesting insights and advice"

I think anyone interested in understanding rudeness, it's causes motivations and ways to assert yourself against it should buy this title. Really good book, we are all affected by it in some way or form. I saw Danny Wallace talking about it on BBC breakfast and I said that's worth a look.

    "Classic Danny W"

Yet another great book by Danny Wallace.
It's the first audio book I've had by him and it's been very enjoyable to listen to. I fear I have looked a little crazy while laughing out loud on walks with my dog but never mind.

    "Wallace does it again!"

Brilliant! Read ALL Danny's books. Although this one is slightly different to his other works it still has the feel of a Danny Wallace book (because, it IS a Danny Wallace book!). You'll laugh. You'll grumble. You'll nod in agreement.

...You'll want your hot dogs in under 12 minutes!
