Publisher's Summary

They want to shut you up. But don't let this be the End of Discussion.

In this fresh and provocative new audiobook, Mary Katharine Ham and Guy Benson, dynamic Fox News and Townhall Media duo, expose how the Left exploits fake outrage to silence their political opponents - in public, on social media, at work, and even in their own homes. End of Discussion encourages all Americans who value the open exchange of ideas to fight back against this strategic effort to make America less free, less feisty, and less fun.

Ham and Benson demonstrate just how dangerous the outrage industry - a coalition of mostly liberal blowhards and busybodies - is to democracy. This media frenzy is designed to disqualify opposing viewpoints on everything from health care to infrastructure to education by labeling them racist, sexist, and evil. They punish speech that makes them uncomfortable, demanding boycotts, firings, regulations, and other economic costs for the sin of disagreeing with them. Instead of engaging in discussion, they seek to win the debate by preventing it from happening.

And if you think this behavior is relegated to political fights or politicians, think again. A network of well-trained operatives, nonprofit groups, PR firms, universities, politicians, and "thought leaders" exists to foment outrage over your association with the "wrong" fried chicken joints, Internet browsers, breast cancer charities, pasta, children's toys, Halloween costumes, TV shows, schools, and even comedians' jokes.

With Ham and Benson's help, listeners can cut through the noise and find their voices again, fighting back against the rampant self-censorship and hair-trigger apologies that always make things worse, not better. With fresh reporting and insightful, occasionally tongue-in-cheek, analysis, End of Discussion is a timely handbook for anyone who wants to make sure debate doesn't meet an ugly death....

Superb and even handed, not preachy or prone to inane moralizing. Recommended highly for left and right!

    "Balanced and well done!"

Great book!!! Especially as it (as equally as possible) calls out both sides of the left-right cultural/social divide

    "This is ABRIDGED!"
Where does End of Discussion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a good book, but it is clearly ABRIDGED!

What was one of the most memorable moments of End of Discussion?

I went back and listened three times because they referenced an earlier statement that I never heard. Did a bit of research and found that I didn't miss it...it was not included in the Audible version! That is supremely disappointing. I would not have purchased an abridged version. It is clearly being advertised as "unabridged" - it is not!

    Any additional comments?

I loved the book, but was extremely disappointed that it was falsely advertised as "unabridged" when it clearly was missing pages and pages of text.

    "4+2/2=3"

I would give the first chapters of the book a four and the last chapters a 2, so overall a three. The book was much better pointing Democratic outrages than Republican ones. That made it sound like one party had a monopoly on the practice. To their credit the authors admitted that they were predisposed in that direction but a little bit more balance would've been nice. I suppose it's hard to see hypocrisy in people you agree with.

    "Excellent Collection Of Examples"

You might need to take breaks from the content because the duplicitous acts of the left eat at your heart of liberty, justice, and freedom.

    "Educational and very Enlightening"

This book really highlights the ongoing issues inside of both political parties in regards to having open discussions about anything. I'm proud to be a member of the conservative party but, I acknowledge that liberals have good points too. Too bad most liberals don't feel the same way about conservatives. Great book that both parties should read.

    "Pretty Darn Good"

I am an independent, who tends to lean a little more to the left most of the time but this was a great book. Guy and Mary Katherine were fantastic, emotive narrators and, while there were a couple points I disagreed with, I found myself nodding in agreement for most of the book. Great job you two!

"An excellent argument for the Conservative movement!"

Loved every aspect of this book! First, it is totally refreshing that the authors actually read their own book for the audio version! I very much appreciate that!!! Mary Katherine and Guy provide a thoughtful discussion on the current plague of "political correctness" devouring our country and our character. With wonderful insight, and more importantly, EVIDENCE, to back up the Conservative message, while at the same time acknowledging the errors of the Republican establishment. I am very proud to have Mary Katherine and Guy on my side as such thoughtful spokespeople of the Conservative movement. This book is a MUST READ (or... a MUST LISTEN TO)! :)
