Summary

Lincoln

This may be my toughest mission yet. None of my SEAL training or my time in the CIA has prepared me for this: a prickly, five-foot-nothing hellcat Jasmin Smith.

She was mine. She can fight it all she wanted, but in the end, I would have her every way a man can have his woman. She was a sassy little thing, making me work to bend her to my demands. But I will! I will bend her and tie her to me so tight she would never be able to get free.

Only problem is I had to break her first. I had secrets that she needed to know. I have fought to get back here...two years breathing in filth and scum. All for her - my warrior princess. Now, all I had to do is make her remember.

Jasmin

My entire life was a lie. Just when I thought I could take no more, I am faced with the most important mission of my life. If I fail, it might cost the one man I have ever loved his life: Lincoln Parker.

I was blissfully living my life as a tier one security contractor, shooting guns and killing bad guys. My life was perfect. Almost. I was missing something - a missing piece of time, to be exact. For the last two years, I have tried to remember the details of my capture and torture. Two years willing my brain to remember.

Then, he walked into my life. Actually, he pushed his way in. It was hard not to notice him - tall, bossy, and sexy as hell. He had no respect of personal space. He used every opportunity to get close and breathe me in. He demanded my attention, whispering the filthiest words in my ear. That was all it took to have me yielding to his every demand. One secret after another is revealed, lies are exposed, and the missing pieces of the puzzle are finally put together.

Nightstalker is a high-paced action adventure series. Featuring ex-military bad boys and possessive alpha males who use dirty language! Be advised.

Warning: Suitable for listeners 18 and above owing to explicit and graphic sexual content and language.

a very steamy second chance military romance

Forgot how red hot and dirty this book was!! Lots of $ex plus a little kink. Fyi, the rest of the series is no where near this level of steam or swearing. The author needs to bring some of this back in her other books. Loved Jasmin and Linc separately and together. Good chemistry but a bit too much drama of I love/hate you back and forth. Lots of secrets and twists to the story and it kept moving throughout the book never slowing down. A bit too much repetitiveness, especially "$hit & damn". Would recommend and looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. Excellent narration by both especially with all the different characters voices.

Nightstalker

I already has the kindle edition of this so thought I'd give the audiobook a go...it was well worth it, the Narrators brought everything to life, and Jason Clarke's deep sexy voice gave me goosebumps..

Ooooo la la!

My goodness! There is just so much going on in this book! Is it a military romance? Yes! Is it hot? YES! Is it more than expected? Yes and YES! There are unforeseen twists and turns in this story that take the book to new levels. The protagonists are very interesting and quite unexpected though you don't realise it to begin with. At first there is the explosive attraction one would expect from alpha men and women. But that hardly touches the very tip of the iceberg. For less that 7 hours of story, there is so much going on and it is riveting and exciting! Am I looking forward to the rest of the series? Absolutely!! I may be new to Riley Edwards as an author but this is just going to be the first of many books I will be experiencing. Carly Robins and Jason Clarke are a dynamic duo for performing this sort of audio book. I definitely enjoyed their narration and will be looking out for more books narrated by them. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Excellent

Don't people read the warnings listed with books. When it says extreme sex and language you have to know the f bomb is going to be used literally. If you don't like the language go read Little House on the Prairie. This audible has really good background on the characters and the situations in the story. I don't normally listen to military stories as they can get really involved, but I totally enjoyed this one. Jasmin is a take no crap from anyone heroine with a drool worthy husband who is very protective of his wife. Especially since he was away for 2 years, and the fact that she had no memory of him shows that patience is always a winner. Love the ending and can't wait to listen to the second book in the Red Team series. If you don't mind bad language and hot sex in, at times, unusual places this book is for you! EXCELLENT FIRST BOOK FOR THIS SERIES! Both narrators are fantastic as they lead you through the lives of the characters and leave you sitting on the edge of your seat. I received a free copy of this audible at my request. It is my pleasure to provide my thoughts on this story. *All comments in my review are strictly my own.*

Engaging and worth a listen

This isn't the first covert ops type romance I've listened to, but it is the first where the woman is also on the team, so that angle was interesting and fresh. The writing was pretty good, a few nitpicky things stood out, like repetitive wording. The heroine's catch phrases, "shit and damn," and "the fuck you say," were sort of out of left field when compared with the rest of her speech, but I could get past it. At first the premise was a little confusing, especially with audio-only because the female character wasn't aware of things the others were and a little more set up would have been nice, though once a few more things were revealed the mystery progressed nicely and made much more sense. All that being said, the narration, particularly the parts done by Jason Clarke, overshadowed any story issues. Carly Robins' voice fit the character, aside from some awkward dialogue delivery on occasion, but Jason Clarke did an excellent job giving each character a specific voice and he even did convincing female voices. His work made the story incredibly engaging, and those sex scenes where he was reading were swoon worthy. I appreciated that they were also not just run-of-the mill, formulaic love scenes, and I loved the enthusiastic consent. This audiobook was given to me for free at my request, this review is voluntarily provided.

Oh yes!

If you think because this is military you won't enjoy it or it'll be boring, you have the wrong idea. This is hot, interesting, and a romance. The narration was great! I always enjoy both of these narrators. They always do a great job with conveying emotions and embodying the characters. I recieved this book at my own request in exchange for my honest review and I would recommend it to most of my friends. The only ones I'd exclude are those that are sensitive to language.

A scorching love story with fabulous narration....

I originally decided to listen to Nighstalker because I love both narrators, and I wanted to see how they performed in a duet. However, I ended up enjoying the story as much as the narration. Nighstalker is the first in a promising new romantic suspense series, and this book kept me listening straight through from beginning to end. I will warn listeners that it is probably not to everyone's tastes due to extensive swearing by all of the characters and graphic sexual scenes. Of course, for fans of erotica, the beautifully written love scenes are the best part of the package. The book follows the tumultuous meeting of two private security operatives, Jasmin and Lincoln, as they meet and fall in lust while planning a top secret infiltration. Two more passionate and stubborn people have never tried to become a couple, and they lead each other on a merry dance with almost constant push and pull. I truly wanted to slap both of them multiple times, but that is the sign of a terrific romance. One in which you are equal parts growling in frustration and sighing in contentment. Throw in some great intrigue and action as well as fantastic banter amongst their fellow team members, and Nightstalker is a keeper. As for the narration, all I can say is WOW. These are two incredibly gifted narrators and combining them as a team makes for a powerful performance. Carly Robins handles Jasmin's highly combustible personality to perfection, and Jason Clarke is the perfect match for Lincoln's alpha male persona. I could listen to Jason Clarke read the phone book and almost have an orgasm, so imagine how sexily he delivers on the dirty talk. I highly recommend Nighstalker, and I am anxiously awaiting my next listen to the team of Edwards, Robins and Clarke. I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Suspenseful!

This was my first Riley Edwards's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Red Team Series, a Military Romance. Lincoln and Jasmin's story is suspenseful, fast-paced, and filled with twists and turns, drama, and secrets. Jasmin is a strong, badass, and sassy woman. She suffers from an amnesic syndrome. Lincoln is a new member of her team. He is an alpha man, possessive, and sexy. They share a sizzling hot chemistry. The story has an unpredictable twist, and a great ending. The other team members are intriguing, and I would love to listen to their story. Zane is my favorite character, and the most intriguing of them. Be aware that the characters use a strong, and dirty language. It took me a little while to get accustomed. Jason Clarke and Carly Robins did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Protecting Olivia, Leo's story.

What an incredible series beginning!

I am all about listening to military ops books, but this one is fresh and different. It includes a woman on the team. Jasmin is not your typical heroine. She is tough, brilliant, fearless and is willing to do anything to accomplish the mission. But she has a problem. She is missing parts of her memory. Lincoln joins her team, and it's evident that he holds a secret. He is an extreme alpha male, is attracted to Jasmin and the chemistry is hot. Caught up in a terrifying mission, this team has to overcome the odds and come out alive. But will they? Will Jasmin recover her memory? And what about Linc's secrets? Twists and turns at every corner matched with steamy passion and danger. What more can you ask for? Riley Edwards delivers romantic suspense at it's finest in her debut novel, with incredible characters and a twist that I never saw coming. With her narrating team of Carly Robins and Jason Clarke, it only goes to show you she means business too! This talented duo sucks you into the story in the first chapter and won't let you go until the end. Robins delivers Jasmin with a fiercely strong and loyal vibe, with fiery passion. To compliment her, Clarke comes in with an alpha male stance that crawls into your heart. This listen is the entire package!

So far, not so good

I like Jason Clarke, I do don't care for Carly Robin's, at least not this story. This book is "action," not. No action, a lot of sex, many questions, not many answers. I would stop listening, but I paid for this book so I feel I should finish, I hate wasting $13.00, kind of annoying. This is the first time I've seen this author. May be she needs more practice. we'll see.

Good story. Could have be great without the sexism

Barring some the sexism in the dialogue its a good story. These stories need to stop putting down everything female to make the main character look heroic. And dont think im hating on the cussing or dirty talk no way. My promblem is with the "only Jasmine is strong enough beacause she is not like other women trope" or "the slutty receptionist who hates Jasmine" Please stop these age old ideas. Strong female characters can be feminine and still not be damsels in distress and be a badass.
