Summary

Maura might be new to the supernatural town of Green Vallis, but this isn't her first dance with the devil.

Half vampire, half human, and full bar owner, Curtis Jefferson has spent a lifetime running from his vampiric ancestor. When the old nemesis finally catches up to him, it’s only by a freak accident that he’s not killed. But now the beautiful woman who saved his life has a target on her back.

As the new owner of the local motel, Maura MacGregor doesn’t have to live at the family mansion, affording her the ability to stay out of the limelight. She never thought the famed Warlock MacGregors’ magickal troubles would manifest by way of a tall, dark, and hunky bar owner, but she doesn't get to make the rules. Fate does.

Magic, mischief, and kilts!

From the Highlands of Scotland to the valleys of Wisconsin.... A modern-day Scottish paranormal romance by NYT best-selling author Michelle M. Pillow.

MacGregors still going strong!

I got completely engrossed by this book and its narration. As usual, lots happens fast in the MacGregor family, and you can never fully expect what happens next except for the HEA at the end... A thoroughly enjoyable read.

love Warlocks MacGregor

Maura believes that she will be able to stay out of the MacGregor craziness. Well, that thought ended about the same time she meets Curtis, the bar owner that will capture your attention. Curtis has tried to ignore part of his ancestry but that ended when the past comes calling.

Wonderful, Fun, Enjoyable Paranormal Adventure

Such a wonderful, fun, enjoyable, romantic and exciting paranormal adventure.
Listen to audible version of the books as they have the added bonus of listening to the tales with Scottish accent of one of the main characters and on this occasion double bonus as lovely southern drawl also.
We experience Maura MacGregor's mating experience and in true MacGregor traditional it is not an easy courtship with lots of obstacles and unusual adventures along the way. Maura's true love partner is a dampire, half human and half vampire with very questionable ancestor.
I really enjoy this series as had so much going for it with great characters, amazing sense of humour, fun, adventure, magic, paranormals and a wonderful support cast of MacGregor family. Each member of the clan brings their own unique element to the stories and with each adventure you get more familiar with the characters, especially Uncle Raibeart and feel like part of the family.
Really enjoyable, fun, magic adventures.

Absolutely Brilliant

This is another rip-roaring MacGregor adventure. Maura MacGregor has been running the local motel with her brother. When she hears drums she is drawn to the woods, there she meets Curtis. He is
wounded having just fought a vampire. That is where their adventure and love story starts. This is a great story with all the characters we have come to love.
The naration is excellent.
I am so looking forward to Uncle Raibeat's story.

Another fabulous tale

Maura MacGregor is running the local Hotel Motel and battling her brother's "creative" talents. She is however distracted by the sound of drums and when she follows the sound,, she encounters Curtis, a damphir, who has just defeated a vampire.
Initially I was concerned that I would not like this book as much as the previous ones, as the initial action between Maura and Curtis takes place away from the rest of the MacGregor family and the hijinks that normally ensues with them. I need not have worried, soon the rest of the family steps up to help Maura and Curtis with their usual flair.
What did come across in this book were the strong women that took the lead, this applied to not just Maura but also her mother.

Time Travel and Love for a MacGregor

This is Maura and Curtis’s story and it has them stuck in a time travel loop. An entertaining story with a very strong leading lady, cleverly written and totally engaging. The ending was emotional and Uncle Railbeart is such fun and not as daft as he acts! Great story telling by Michelle M Pillow and the narration by Michael Ferraiuolo is fantastic as always!

“This is one hell of a supernatural blind date..."

This is one heck of a ride. Maura and Curtis are both familiar characters, but here they take center stage and we truly discover if they are meant to be together, no matter what.

I loved this story, the humor, the strength of both of these characters, the way they kept their wits about them as they dealt with changing circumstances, and in the ultimate showdown how each faced what truly mattered to them, and the hard decisions.

Not the Best in this Otherwise Wonderful Series

Not the Best Installment in this Otherwise Wonderful Series

I have listened to or read most books in this absolutely delightful series. I love the complex and humorous world the author has created. The MacGregor warlocks are a tight-knit Immortal Scottish family, and I love their interactions, the individual quirkiness, and the flat-out humor in these otherwise serious books (or at least serious in the dark forces they are up against). As much as I have enjoyed the other books in the series, this one just didn’t quite do it for me and is my least favorite. I just didn't buy the romance between the MacGregor warlock daughter and the damphyr hero. There wasn’t enough of a romantic arc to believe the depths of their feelings when the dire aspects of the book started to happen. That said, I'm still looking forward to the next book of the series because it's such a fun and creative world, even if this one did disappoint compared to the rest. At the end, the author teased about a book featuring Uncle Raibert—the streaking MacGregor from the older generation who proposes to every woman he meets—one I'm very much looking forward to!

Time Travel

This is aura and Curtis's story. Laughing, crying and more throughout the book. You would read or listen like I did while doing other things. Did not shut it off, I needed to know what was going to happen next.

Curtis & Maura

The ninth book in the Warlocks MacGregor series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story grabbed my interest from the first page. Half vampire, half human and full bar owner, Curtis Jefferson and the new owner of the local motel, Maura MacGregor's story. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains, twists, turns, and romance. This series just gets better with each new book. I want to read the next book. I enjoyed listening to Michael Ferraiuolo as he told this story.

More magikal mischief

This book is the ninth one in Michelle M. Pillow’s Warlocks MacGregor series and she still keeps coming up with very different love stories for this whole family. This one is Maura’s turn and the book has her and her love Curtis going back and forth in time trying to fix various problems. I love the way Ms. Pillow paces her books and has funny bits to offset the heavier parts of her stories. This book was especially good with that. I listened to the audio book narrated by the amazing Michael Ferraiuolo who does regular narration and so many voices so well. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wonderful read

Another wonderful MacGregor adventure. The Magic, Mischief and Kilts! series are all excellent reads. While it is better to read them all they can be read as stand alone stories. However, once you read one you will want to read the others. There is always lots of adventure and romance and the story of Maura and Curtis is no different. Great read.

Maura and Curtis

Another addition to the McGregor audiobook series.
Maura came to Wisconsin to be near her parents and brother Rory. She is running the Hotel Motel with Rory’s twin Bruce. She begins to have flashbacks of the past. It involves the new resident Curtis.
Curtis is half vampire. His grandmother raised him. Her father was an evil vampire. He left Louisiana without letting his great grandfather know. Now he is drawn into the past flashback episodes with the warlock Maura McGregor. They end up saving his grandmother as a baby from evil. Uncle Raibert is alway up for babysitting duties and his endearing antics.
Good story with intrigue, past lives, flashbacks episodes, vampires, tator tot nachos, chemistry, supernaturals, family loyalty, family antics, themed motel rooms,
fated mate, new generation and love.

Time travel with love

Love the story within a story and nice ending how it came in the end. I wish I could see my past and future man I will be with. Good thing I don’t run into ghosts. Run Uncle. Lol

Tater Tot Nachos

The Scottish Warlocks MacGregors have lived around the world on their long lives and now live in Wisconsin. They are a large, close-knit, loving family full of magic, wit, humor, brazen challenges, and fun. Maura MacGregor helps her brother, or he helps her, manage the Hotel Motel. Curtis Jefferson owns the Crimson Tavern bar and restaurant. Curtis is a dhampir from Mississippi. Maura, who was following the sound of a drum, and Curtis meet in the forest just after he has sent a vampire to his smokey death. This is another action-packed, hard-to-put-down story in the MacGregor saga. Curtis and Maura are pulled back and forth from the present to post-Civil War Mississippi. While there, they rescue a newborn baby and battle a powerful Vampire sire. While on this rather odd adventure, they begin to fall for each other. There may be love for yet another MacGregor, if they get out of this alive. The story is fill with danger, magick, time travel, lots of MacGregor humor and mischief, romance, and a happy ending. Oh, and Raibert and tater tot nachos. The story is exciting, and the characters are entertaining. Great narration by Michael Ferraiuolo.

Loved It

I loved this book. I love that each book in the series always starts off differently and unique from the others, but is completely captivating and hooks you almost immediately. I was very intrigued with half vampire Curtis. I liked his personality and the danger to him captivated me immediately. I really liked Maura and thought her a good match for him.

Michael Ferraiuolo does another fantastic job narrating this book. Curtis's southern accent was absolutely delicious! Michael is such a talented narrator! I haven't read any of these books myself, but listened to them in audiobook format, and I can't imagine this series without Michael's amazing voice talent!
