About this listen
The FBI don't take kindly to the case being looked into again and, as John Corey's instincts and investigations clearly show anomalies, he and Kate are sent off to the Yemen and Tanzania for a month or so each as punishment.
On his return, John is not put off - he has ten days' leave. Ten days in which to avoid the FBI and to find that elusive video tape taken by two adulterous lovers on the beach which may - or may not - show a sea-to-air missile racing up to hit the TWA Flight 800...
An exciting, edge-of-the-seat thriller - Nelson DeMille's best to date.©2004 Nelson DeMille
Critic reviews
Nelson deMille at full tilt with another engaging, exciting and impeccably researched thriller
Gripping
With inspired writing and the tension-inducing talents of a true master, Nelson DeMille delves into one of the most mysterious tragedies in recent history - TWA flight 800. In a career marked by great books, DeMille has written his most entertaining and skilful novel to date with Night Fall
This real-life tragedy hands DeMille perhaps his finest lot ever. The thriller lifts the plot into the heavens of mystery, with a satisfying Ahhh! at the end that you'll foresee and still be surprised by
The story is framed around the post TWA800 crash inter agency investigation controversy and a missing video tape of the crash.
Considering the subject matter the author's approach was much lighter than I expected. None of the rage and cynicism that for example James Ellroy would have brought to the same subject.
If you've watched a few of the documentaries about the crash this could provide some interesting light relief. And vica versa, if you enjoy the novel then a digger deep into the investigation could prove eye opening.
