Summary

An erotic romantic suspense with a blind heroine.

Blind since 19, Summer has blossomed into a famous woodcarver. When she's almost killed by a serial killer, she's whisked away to a secluded wilderness cabin by the man she once secretly loved. Summer can't get enough of touching professional bodyguard Nick Cassidy's thick, powerful muscles and all those other hard, yummy male body parts that she has always longed to explore. For years Nick has stayed away from his best friend's kid sister, nice girl Summer. Now he's back and sweeping his gorgeous redhead into the naughty cravings he's always had for her. With passion blinding him, Nick doesn't realize their hideout isn't safe - until it's too late.

Quick and enjoyable

Did the Audiobook meet your expectations?
It met my expectations and they went above. This is the first book that I have listened to where the main female character has an impairment (I have read and listened to many wounded warriors books). It was interesting to have a glimpse into Summers visual impairment.

How did the story make you feel?
I really enjoyed this book. When Summer has the first interaction with the Stalker, Teri did an amazing job delivering her nervousness and fear that you felt in the moment with her.

Did the narrator make it easy to follow the story?
Teri made the story very easy to follow.

Did you find the narrator’s voice fitting for the main protagonists(s)?
An amazing job by Teri.

Do you recommend this audiobook and will you pick up more?
This was the first book from Jan, and I was impressed and will be looking for more of her work. This was also the first narration from Teri that I have listened to and I will defiantly be looking out for her as well.

I was gifted this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

A quick, erotic and suspenseful listen

In one sentence, this book is a quick flowing listen that swings between erotic and suspenseful. It is jam packed with fast moving action, complete with hot sex, a childhood love and a serial killer. If you like your escapism to be hot and fast, this book will tick the right boxes!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Another Great One!

What did you love best about Nice Girl Naughty?

I like that the female lead was strong but not over the top with her stubbornness.

What about Teri Clark Linden’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed Teri Clark's narration of the story. She did really good in separating the characters' voices and keeping them the same throughout.

Any additional comments?

This is another great book by Jan Springer. I was on the edge of my seat several times. I was able to feel for the main characters and listened to this in one sitting. I would recommend this book to my friends. What a great listen!!

weighing out my conflictions 🤔

With a psychotic serial killer on the loose this book was suspenseful but could have had a bit more action.
At times the intimate scenes between Summer & Nick were hot and other times the characters couldn't even say the word and referenced to it as down there.. Really!!
And what's up with Nick agreeing to forgo using condoms because he's ready for whatever consequences it brings??? but then says he's not ready for a commitment anytime soon... What??
Thank goodness they did get it together though and find a HEA ending.
This was a good listen but.. could have been great if it didn't have these contradictions.
Teri Clarke Linden did do a good job narrating for the most part but at times sounded robotic.
I was given this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
So after wavering the pros and cons..
I don't think I would spend a credit for it. But if I caught it on sale I would buy it because if you can get past some of the cons it is entertaining.

Fun and spicy

The author and narrator were new to me. This is the first erotic mystery that I have listened to. It was much more than I was expecting. I loved the mystery aspect of the story and the character development. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

OMG.. Who, What, When, Where, Why and How?

SPOILER ALERT. This book had so much potential. It starts off at a birthday party with a girl and a man. The girl, Summer, has had a crush on the man Nick, who is her brother's best friend and they work overseas as bodyguards. Nick kisses her then leaves with no explanation why. Switch to 10 years ahead of time. OK… WTH .. no explanation, no fillers. It was basically a fade to black. That works on TV; not in books. Ten years later and she's blind… ask we're given is that there was an accident that caused it and that her parents are also dead but again no explanation… WTF… she's an artist, a sculptor which is pretty cool but puts her in the rights of a serial killer. She's attacked then another freaking face to black. Story then splits to three POVs- Nick's, Summer's and the killer's. Nick hasn't seen Summer since her birthday, Summer also doesn't speak to her brother if she can help it. Her brother and Nick decide that she needs a bodyguard until the serial killer is caught and that detail goes to Nick. Another freaking face and we're in the hospital with Summer, her elderly assistant managed to stop the killer from taking Summer and stayed him with mace. NICE! In the hospital they notice that Summer has regained some of her vision, just shadow's but more than she had. Instead of staying for tests, she decides to leave against medical advice. She doesn't know that Nick is outside her room. Her assistant breaks the news of the bodyguard but never says his name. Once she talks to Nick and they argue about her need for a guard, she concedes and Nick takes her to a cabin. The car ride though… Summer falls asleep and has a sex dream so freaking vivid that you don't actually realize it's a dream until the end. The dream seemed like it was a whole chapter long. Only there's nothing to indicate that she's still sleeping because of the author's tendency to fade to the next scene you don't really know if she's still sleep or not. 🤦🏾‍♀️ So they're in the cabin a few hours before Summer is literally cannon balling herself at Nick… constantly. They have sex constantly. Nick tries to focus on his job but he is in fact a man and had feelings for Summer so.. why the hell not. Summer tries not to think more of the sex but she's always been in love with him. In the meantime, the serial killer is trying to find her and had placed bugs around the assistants house. He finds out where Summer is and goes on the hunt. He attacks Nick and Summer at the cabin and is killed. Fade to and Nick and Summer are planning marriage. I think this could have been amazing if the book was longer and the author used more detail. Be more descriptive. She split into the points of view but we only hear from the killer twice for like two minutes each. In this situation, I would have preferred a background on him, a reason why he'd chosen Summer. When he told her he was watch her, I would have wanted to have a section where it was just him actually stalking her. To make it a little more mysterious, a little darker. Finish the faded scenes, especially the scene where the assistant stopped the attack. A background of Nick falling for Summer as a teenager but not wanting his friend to know. More detail as to why he walked away from her. This while book just needed more.. you don't want your readers sitting there asking… "but what happened, why, where, who, when, HOW?" JUST SAYING!

Nick and Summer

This is a best friend's little sister taboo type storyline. The heroine is blind which added elements to the story that was out of my usually and I enjoyed it very much. Nick and Summer together were hot and the chemistry was off the charts. The serial killer element had my heart racing many times. Teri Clark Linden did a great job.

Potential...but...

The story itself has potential, but the delivery needs work. The wording was awkward to listen to at times, and the reader didn’t make the story very engaging. I only finished it because it was short and I put it at a faster speed to finish quicker. If you are going do write adult romance, you need to use adult romance vernacular. Needs better word choice.

Excellent book

This book will grip you in the suspense and thrill you with the romance. It was an excellent book to listen to as it kept me glued to my cell. The author has done a great job describing life as a blind person and the detail in the writing is superb. I would certainly recommend this book to others who enjoy romantic suspense. I did receive this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Not bad for a short story!

Kept me entertained. Narrator did a good job. Will look at more Jan Springer and Teri Clark Linden going forward.
