Summary

A breath-taking thriller which weaves history and religion with action, adventure and apocalypse…Luke Hayward is adrift. Blacklisted out of academia, he is in no position to refuse when a client asks for his expert help in recovering some lost Isaac Newton papers. But a chance discovery in a dusty attic plunges Luke into a race to uncover the truth behind some seemingly random scribbling’s - a race which pits Luke against a fundamentalist madman with dangerously powerful friends. Luke discovers connections between Oxford, London and the Old City of Jerusalem in a breathless chase to uncover a secret hidden in the eccentric ramblings of a mathematical genius; a secret that, in the wrong hands, could be used to spark the holy war to end all holy wars…

Ruined by the terrible accents

A reasonable story with some weak writing at times, but ruined by the narrators terrible accents. The Israeli accent that keeps slipping into a South African accent was particularly awful.

Its a grower

I liked this book, a lot. Its a grower to be honest and at the start I was struck how fast it was read but later didn't notice the speed. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot and the ideas that came with it. I liked the ending and I enjoyed the main characters too. So why not 5stars? I guess it could have been read a little slower, that would have helped and perhaps the story could have been ordered very slightly differently but to be honest I'd give it 4+ or 5-. I'd definitely buy from the author again and if the reader was doing a book I was interested in, he wouldn't put me off.
