About this listen
Surly, rude, selfish, and inconveniently attractive. Meet Milo Papatonis, the king of all jerks.
I’m not normally one to judge, but I’ve been down this particular road before and I can unequivocally say he’s earned his title. It’s not enough that Milo crushed my dreams when we were kids, but now I’m somehow being forced to dwell under the same roof with his ill-mannered ass. If he thinks his sexy shower noises and ovary-imploding smile can tempt me into forgetting, he’s nuts.
This situation is strictly business and blessedly temporary. Because my dreams are still out there waiting for me, and they won’t be found anywhere near this town - or this guy.
Jerks do nothing but break hearts, of that I’m certain. But I’ve been known to be wrong a time or two....
If you've listened to Then Again by Sylvie Stewart, you've met Jill, the hopeless flirt and younger sister to Jenna. Catch up with Jill as well as your friends from The Nerd Next Door in this fun, sexy, irresistible new addition to the Carolina Kisses series.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧An Enjoyable Delight!
Sylvie Stewart pens another delightful romantic comedy set in her “Carolina Kisses” series and I loved every minute of it, from her wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. The story swept me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it straight to the end. The characters are realistic, relatable, easy to connect with and care about, I adored the two lead characters, Milo Papatonis and Jill Holloway. Milo inherited his father’s beach house, life has not always been easy for him and not all went as planned, he suffers chronic pain from an old injury but none of it has stopped him from helping others when they were in need, including taking in his teenage niece, Felicity. Jill is at a crossroads and is trying to figure her life where she is in life and where she wants to go. Driving aimlessly, she finds herself in the same Carolina beach town her family vacationed in when she was younger, only this time broke and a car that won’t start. She has the car towed but the outlook for the car is not very good, so she plans on staying, getting a job and saving up for another car. She sees a help wanted sign in the window of a restaurant and applies for the job, it is an interesting and uniquely named and themed restaurant, the owner is on the eccentric side. She stays at a seedy hotel and attempts to find a place to rent for her short-term stay. And with the universe working against her at the moment, she is face to face with him again, Milo, the one she vowed to hate forever. Wow, you could cut the tension between those two with a knife, each gave as good as they got, Milo the grump and the take no crap Jill stood her own. But the one thing that was apparent was that there was still something between them and the chemistry was undeniable. This is a beautifully written and plotted second chance romantic comedy, and the story contains the perfect balance of drama, angst, humor and witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and a meant to be romance. Sylvie Stewart thank you for another wonderful story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride, Milo and Jill’s journey to their HEA was a great one.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Amanda Stribling and Matt Hicks are mega talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the character to sound. Amanda Stribling’s Jill was perfection, she grasped all her strength’s as well as her no crap attitude when warranted, her timing was impeccable too. Matt Hicks played the perfect Milo as well, angst, grumpiness and all. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly, never missing a beat. Thank you for another wonderfully entertaining listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

misconceptions and snark
I like the story and the wit and the snark. Mostly, I live the way Milo is so caring and so sweet and how he is a protector. Jill can be a little much but it fits with the story. Well done from the writing to the narration.

Book 2 standalone
It took me a little bit for this book to catch my attention but when it did I was hooked. I enjoyed this story. It tells about the past but it is very clear when we are in the past or present, so that was good. I enjoyed these characters. I liked that Milo wasn’t “perfect” he was injured and has visible scars. The narration is great. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Satisfying, funny and heart-warming romance
I’m doing a strange seal-clap of giddiness as I think about writing this review because I just adored this book. It’s actually the second book in Sylvie Stewart’s Carolina Kisses series - but it stands completely alone with its own couple and HEA.
Jill has ditched her normal life to go on an adventure in order to find herself and make her dreams come true. It’s just sheer bad luck that her car breaks down and she has to hole up in a small town with no money and no friends. Her luck turns around when she finds a room for rent at a really cheap rate. But that room is in the home of Milo, the boy - now man - who broke her heart one summer 12 years ago. And he’s still the biggest jerk in town.
So yay for legitimate and deep-seated enemies to lovers. Milo is a proper grump and is so annoyed by Jill and her sunny nature invading his life once again. I love the way she infuriates him but it’s a hot second before we realise that Milo is properly smitten with Jill. So it becomes something of an unrequited love, yearning and longing thing that made me happy. In the audiobook, Milo is voiced by the drawl-tastic Matt Hicks. His voice is so delicious and he definitely channeled the growly, grumpy Milo.
Jill was a really likeable character - a sunshiny, upbeat sort but still worldly and practical. I loved the way her feelings were so back and forth towards Milo - and how through it all, even if she professed to hate him, she still had the hots for him! Jill is voiced by Amanda Stribling and I believed her portrayal and her voice was nice to listen to.
The pair had explosive chemistry - and not just because of the ‘I hate you’ vibes! It was hot and I was here for it. But on top of that, every few chapters, we’d go back in time 12 years to when Jill and Milo met one summer as teens. Those scenes were adorable and they really showed the beginning of the feelings and emotions between the pair. It wasn’t full on angst, but as we see this young couple having a happy summer, you know that they’re going to end up as enemies and that something is going to go very wrong. Waiting for that to reveal itself was a strange form of delightful torture and it kept me listening long into the night.
This is Sylvie Stewart so of course we get a lot of laughs in the story - but there’s definitely an emotional undercurrent that really gives depth to Milo and Jill’s tale. There were so many things about this story that made me happy and I honestly feel a bit bereft now that the story is over. I enjoyed every single second of this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a satisfying, funny and heart-warming romance. 5 stars.

Sylvie’s stories crack me up.
Oh man.
Matt and Amanda did a fabulous job narrating this story.
I was almost crying with laughter at some of the bickering between Milo and Jill.
Absolutely hilarious.
Although, there were some sweet and sincere moments between them. These seemed to hit harder because of the tension and uncertainty between the two of them. And don’t even get me started about Mrs. Von Trapp lady 🤣
It was nice to see some of the characters from previous books make an appearance, I always love when that happens.
Great listening.
