Summary
Never Get Angry Again, by New York Times and internationally best-selling author David J. Lieberman, is a comprehensive, holistic look at the underlying emotional, physical, and spiritual causes of anger and a practical guide to what the listener can do to gain perspective.
David J. Lieberman understands that a change in perspective is all that is needed to help keep from flying off the handle. In Never Get Angry Again, he reveals how to see anger through a comprehensive, holistic lens, illuminates the underlying emotional, spiritual, and physical components of anger, and gives listeners simple, practical tools to snuff out anger before it even occurs.
Take a deep breath and count to 10. Meditate. Visualize your happy place. You've probably heard all of these anger management techniques and more from friends, family, and experts, but somehow they miss the mark when it comes to coping with the complex emotion of anger.
Let's face it: If anger-management techniques were effective, you wouldn't be listening to this audiobook. These clumsy attempts to maintain calmness are usually futile and sometimes emotionally draining. The fact is, either something bothers us (causing anxiety, frustration, or anger), or it doesn't. A state of calm is better accomplished by not becoming agitated in the first place. When we fight the urge to blow up or melt down, we fight against our own nature.

Talks about God, utter nonsense!
I frequently had to tell the narrator to f*** off. What’s God got to do with it?!mentions the soul a lot. Awful. Made me very angry.

Too religious
Starts off great! But then goes all religious. Felt completely let down by the book. Should have been clearer that it was a religious book.

This is a religious book posing as a scientific book.
This book is annoying and shallow. It pumps out platitudes as if the complex and sometimes compromising experience of being a human being can be “solved” with a few choice instructions. It is patriarchal in tone. It is not particularly compassionate. It treats anger as a problem that can be fixed. It describes its own advice - which it is necessarily giving out to people the author has never met and knows nothing of - as “fool proof” and “proven”. Arrogant and trite. Do not buy.

Way too religious
Was expecting psychology and got a religious book instead. Halfway through starts with biblical references and tell the reader how God will help them.
Not what I expected and not in the slightest but helpful

Not for me
Started off being very interesting and relatable but then the writer starts linking everything to “God”.
I don’t believe in god, I can’t rely on God... book returned to the shelf.

This is a religious self help book and should state that clearly in the title.

Too outdated
I just couldn't finish this book, too outdated and narrowminded, I found the book very patronising and old fashioned

Narrator grates!
Tried hard to continue with this book but the narrator's voice was too irritating! The content started off well but then moved into talking about God and linking everthing to him - far too religious for me. Like other reviewers, it simply made me angry and defeated the whole object! Gave up and have cancelled membership as most books I have tried through Audible have incredibly lrritarting narrators sadly. Not for me.
