Summary

Grainy CCTV footage shows a man walking into a bank and putting a gun to a cashier's head. He tells her to count to twenty-five. When he doesn’t get his money in time, she is executed. Detective Harry Hole is assigned to the case. While Harry’s girlfriend is away in Russia, an old flame gets in touch. He goes to dinner at her house and wakes up at home with no memory of the past twelve hours. The same morning the girl is found shot dead in her bed. Then Harry begins to receive threatening e-mails. Is someone trying to frame him for this unexplained death?

Meanwhile the bank robberies continue with unparalleled savagery. Gripping and surprising, Nemesis is a thriller by one of the biggest stars of Scandinavian crime fiction.

Completely addictive.

One of the most addictive books I have ever read. The characters came to life and the complexity of the storyline engaged my imagination to it's fullest.

Thrilled by Nemesis

Great book, very well written and very well narrated. Interesting, unpredictable and as usual an excellent Jo Nesbo book.

Confusing at times

Confusing at times, names not very clear between the characters . Overlapped timelines not a very clear storyline at times.

Good at times

Well read but occasionally monotonous. Enjoyed colourful character descriptions and touches of humour. A typical Scandinavian style detective thriller. Lost me at times as to who was who!

Harry Hole and Nemesis

This is a continuation of the 'Oslo Sequence' of Harry Hole novels. It continues the story started in The Redbreast. I enjoyed this book very much, which introduces the new character of Beate Lønn. At the centre of the book and continued from The Redbreast is Harry's relationship with colleague Tom Waaler. I got a little frustrated towards the end of the book when I realised that the book was going to continue in a new book and not be completed in this. This will lead me to the next book, 'The Devil's Star'.

Nemesis

Frustrating yet brilliant storyline which keeps you coming back for more. The humour which Nesbo interjects makes you think you are in the room.

Nesbo on cracking form

This was great. My fourth in the series and probably the best to date. Harry Hole does what he does best - just being Harry Hole. I look forward to number five.
