Summary

"Achingly funny" - Libby Purves

On the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, Iestyn Edwards, bass baritone, boarded the HMS Victory to sing at a naval supper in the presence of Her Majesty.

Stacks, Royal Marines commando, was there on duty. He was also on duty when Iestyn turned up in the middle of the Iraq war on a Combined Services Entertainment tour, this time in a tutu....

Despite trying to dry his ballet tights on the anti-blast wall, singing from a tank turret and confiscating the president of Estonia’s custard creams, the most unlikely friendship was formed.

They even invited him back....

Fabulously funny

Hearing the author deliver his own work, in his own voice, is brilliant. Great banter with the soldiers. Charming British campery at its best. I’ve seen his live show and he is hilarious.

Hilarious blend of showbiz, war and friendship

Charm, wit, intelligence and brilliant 'idiosyncratic' narration - absolutely loved every minute of the journey!
