Story
What to do if Matthew, your secret lover, finally decides to leave his wife, Sophie, and daughters and move into your flat, just when you're thinking that you might not want him anymore. Plan A: Stop shaving your armpits. And your bikini line. Tell him you have a moustache that you wax every six weeks. Plan B: Accidentally on purpose bump into his wife, Sophie. Give yourself a fake name and identity. Befriend Sophie. Actually begin to really like Sophie. Snog Matthew's son (who's the same age as you by the way - you're not a paedophile). Buy a cat and give it a fake name and identity.

The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

I was hooked from the first chapter so that's obviously a good start. The rest of the story is worth a listen. Some bits were a bit muddled, but overall I enjoyed it. This was hugely helped by two excellent narrators- makes such a difference with an audiobook.

Brilliant Book!! Recommended!
What did you like best about this story?
It kept me guessing throughout. The 2 narrators made it extra enjoyable with each one telling their own tale. Paula was so lovely and didn't deserve to be treated like that by her husband.
Saskia was a vile person. I don't know how she continued to do what she did to Paula after getting to know her. I was really looking forward to see how things wold unfold for then both.
I thought that I knew what was going to happen in the end - but I was wrong!!
Any additional comments?
It would make a great TV series. Along the lines of Doctor Foster!!
Are all Saskia's vile? This is the 3rd book I've read over the last few years where the horrible female in the book was called Saskia!! (Apologies if that's your name!)

A Bit of a Bore
I enjoy Jane Fallon's style of writing - witty and crisp - but this novel was disappointing and a bit of a bore. The entire premise upon which it was structured borders on the absurd. None of the characters are likable; the protagonist's weight loss storyline was tedious and banal, while the plot to fatten her rival was simply juvenile and a non-starter.
In short, I would recommend that fans place this title at the bottom of your Fallon reading lists, to be deployed only when all else fails.

My Sweet Revenge
After reading Faking Friends by the same author I thought this book would be as good. No way I have tried several times to read it but can only get to first few chapters. The story is very ordinary. I loved Faking Friends one of the best but this one should be in the romance package with all the other books not worth reading. Tried Got you Back by this author but not for me.

A Surprising Treat!
This was a fun, sassy novel with a likable protagonist, who isn't as predictable as most women in chick-lit novels. I liked that she took matters into her own hands and I enjoyed the writing style of this author. It is really hard to find light, fun fiction that isn't silly or massively predictable, and Jane Fallon delivered. I will definitely keep an eye on this author!

I love Jane Fallon books
I wasn't a fan of the short synopsis so I resisted getting this book for a while. I read a few others and kept coming back to Jane's books trying to find my next read that compared to Faking Friends. This, like her other book, has a lot of twists and turns. It does start fairly slow and it takes awhile to get into, but by midway, I couldn't stop listening. very fun and creative!

Horrible
This book could have been so good if only...there was an actual plot. There was a moment, toward the end, when I thought finally something was going to happen, but nothing (and I mean NOTHING) ever materialized. Not sure why the author titled it My Sweet Revenge, when the wife was too pathetic to actually follow through on anything. Complete waste of time and money.

Couldn’t stop listening!
There are so many twists and turns in this one that I was hooked. I will say I wonder what happened in this poor author’s own marriage or relationship, because ALL her books seem to center on getting revenge on a cheating ex! But no matter - the characters are well-drawn, the plot unpredictable, and the reader spot on. Loved it!
