Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable, audiobook edition of My Story by Steven Gerrard, read Michael Ryan.

Steven Gerrard is the former captain of Liverpool football team and of the England national football team, and is the only player ever to have scored in a FA cup final, a league cup final, a UEFA cup final and a champion's league final. His entire career, since 1998, has been spent at Anfield with Liverpool. In this book he charts his full playing career, shedding light on the defining games, his life off the pitch as well as the players and managers he's encountered. Explosive, controversial and searingly honest, this will be the last word from an era-defining player.

Very intense insight into Stevies G's life and mind. He is a winner through and through and this is a great insight into what drove him as a person and a player.

Excellent book about one of the worlds greatest players... giving an interesting interesting insight into the world of top level professional football.

The narration is good however slightly let down by the passages when describing chants or songs, feels very robotic at these points. Otherwise an excellent read through.

Definitely worth a read to see inside the mind of one of the worlds greats.

I'm a Manchester United fan. I think Steven is one of the greatest players of my generation. In the book I don't think he focused on his own achievements heavily, he also focuses on greats he's played with and managers he's played under. At times I became lost in a fantasy of playing along side these players. I found the book very entertaining and as I don't know much about Liverpool football club, it kept me interested throughout!
