I thought I was sorted on the life front. I was a heart surgeon with a loving partner and two gorgeous little girls. Except my husband’s version of "loving" is lying, cheating, and sleeping his way around London. Which means I definitely deserve a refund. Unfortunately, moving on isn’t that simple. Just because I know how to operate on a heart doesn’t mean I know how to fix my broken one. Plus, I lost the receipt for him years ago, so I’m definitely getting shortchanged. But now that I’m single, am I ready to mingle?

When I got pregnant, Will and I didn’t have a clue what we were signing up for. It turns out that there’s loads we weren’t warned about. But even if I feel like I’m waiting for my motherhood powers to come in the post, at least I’ve got Will. Our old life - festivals, sambuca shots, an actual sex life - might be a distant memory, but we can get through anything together, can’t we? At least that’s what I thought until, one day, Will walked out on us.... If I’m on my own (apart from Siri, obviously) can I do this whole parenting thing?

Fun light hearted read
I loved this book. It took me a while to get all the characters lined up after the intro which I listened to twice. However I really liked the structure Shari used to tell the story from the each of the 4 sisters points of view. The story really highlighted how important it is for people to communicate clearly. It was also a lovely up beat love story which illustrated how people can change their lives for the better.

Good and frustrating
Really enjoyed the storyline to this story, but it took a lot of concentration to keep up with the characters stories. There were a lot of characters and half of the time I hadn't forgotten their back stories.
It was read well, apart the Scottish accent, the other accents. i.e. French and American weren't great.

Excellent!
Best book I've listened to in ages! I was completely enthralled from the first chapter. The whole story is one big who dunnit with plenty of laughs but with some poignant, real moments too. Each character is well developed and not without flaws and with each chapter you can see their perspective and understand their side of things. It's a story of humour, sisterhood and intrigue. It's so refreshing to read a book that I really wasn't sure of the outcome, kept me guessing until the end.
I really enjoyed the narrator too, the story was made even wittier with her glaswegian lilt. I will certainly be reading more from Shari Low!

Couldn’t get beyond the first few chapters. If this is what having sisters is like I am glad I don’t have any. And not a single one of the characters in the entire story is a decent person worthy of being called a friend. I rarely don’t make it to the end of a book. After a few chapters it was way to much to take.

story about four sisters
a story about four sisters getting to know each other and learning to love and appreciate each other more. I did have to power through the first half of the book thinking how awful they are to each other but I realize now that it had to be that way, for the ending to be more meaningful, for the point to Really hit home.

Narrator could have been better
The story was not that bad but I think the story teller was the problem. The voices of each character went from ok to really bizarre and awful. I went ahead and finished the book but was not at all really attracted to it and at times really wanted to stop altogether listening it to it.
