Summary

A riveting football romance story of opposites attracting and a relationship of convenience turning into something more....

For Charlotte Blair, life has never been easy. Growing up in a poor family, she had to constantly scrimp and save in order to afford college. Unfortunately, medical bills drain her savings, and she finds herself further behind the eight ball than ever. How will she ever be able to afford nursing school?

Coming from a tight-knit and wealthy family, life has never been particularly hard for football star Dax Taylor. Born with natural ability as well as a father and older brother to train him, it appears as if Dax is on his way to football stardom. However, unearned success can be deadly, and Dax finds himself falling for the easy temptations of money and fame. So much so, they are threatening his career. What can he do?

When Dax meets Charlotte at the café she works at, he hits upon the perfect plan. She will pretend to be his perfect girlfriend for the press, and he will pay her school tuition in return. The ground rules are set, and they couldn’t be simpler. Charlotte will not have to have sex with Dax, and in return, Charlotte promises to not fall in love. Easy, right? What could go wrong? It turns out...everything.

Charlotte and Dax!

Charlotte dreams of going to college to become a nurse however with the tragic death of her parents she finds herself struggling financially as she works at a diner trying to save money to attend. Dax appears to be living the dream as he comes from an affluent and loving family, has a promising professional football career and has a way with the ladies.

When Dax’s off field behavior could affect his ability to play he and Charlotte come to a mutually beneficial arrangement but will they be able to stick to the terms which include no feelings and no intimacy?

I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and enjoyed the performance of the narrator.

This is a quick story and I feel like it could have been expanded but I still enjoyed it.
Standalone with no cliffhangers.
She's is alone in life working hard to save for her future. He has everything in life and doesn't appreciate it until it's almost to late.

enjoyable short story

An interesting and well-written short story with awesome chemistry and a few twists. Dax is a playboy and plays for the NFL. He needs to cleanup his act or off the team. Charlotte recently moves to feel closer her parents who have passed and works in a greasy diner. Upon the two meeting the chemistry is explosive and a a fake relationship is formed. Will he fix his rep and can they keep it platonic? An enjoyable storyline that shows you just how precious life can be. Fantastic narration really bringing the story to life.

Funny and Sweet

This is a funny and sweet story. Bad Boy Dax needs Charlotte’s help to clean up his image, they never thought they would find love. Martin Landry gives an ok performance, just not how I pictured the voices of the characters.
