Climbing Kilimanjaro? No thank you.
Climbing it with Miller West? Absolutely f***ing not.

A full week without showers, a real bed, or Internet was bad enough. Spending it with my family’s sworn enemy—the unbearably smug, indecently handsome Miller West—is a bridge too far.

I’m determined to remain enemies, even if sparring with him is my favorite thing in the world. Even if he’s hell-bent on protecting me, whether I need it or not, and surprisingly kind, no matter how awful I am to him.

But eight days is a long time to hate someone you’re sleeping next to.

Especially when you suspect you never hated him at all.

And what happens on Kilimanjaro stays on Kilimanjaro...right?

5 ⭐️♾️ - the audiobook was phenomenal, god, I love, love Miller and Kit, so, so much. Reading this again was such a joy and picking up the bits about Charlie and Maren have me so giddy for their book!

The yearning from Miller West, my god I’m unwell!! I don’t know what it is, but when a man is obsessed as how Miller was, and he’s so pathetically down bad; it just scratches something in my brain.

This had everything I loved, billionaire, forced proximity boy OBSESSED, mutual pining, sibling’s ex, only one tent, and a stop the wedding moment, honestly, go read it.

I’m already wishing that I could read this again for the first time!

I live for chaotic ex entanglements. Anything involving someone’s ex, be it sister, best friend, their nan (I’m joking) but especially, an ex’s dad, I will inhale, just like I did with this.

It was SO angsty, and rather chaotic, as you’d expect from an ex being involved. The forced proximity, was so unbelievably good. As if it wasn’t bad enough that Kit was stuck hiking with her sister’s ex, Miller, who she cannot stand, she was now having to share a tent with him, I loved it.

The banter between them was so good, too, ugh, and I just miss them already, it’s not fair! 😭😭

Honestly, there were moments where I did predict and suspect certain parts going how they did; like Miller switching routes last minute, Kit’s dad for ensuring that they ended up in Tanzania. That Miller left all those years ago because he realised he had feelings for Kit, and honestly I loved it. It made me so giddy.

I really liked the emotional depth that this also had, Kit is multilayered, struggling under the weight of carrying her mother and sister’s responsibilities and always having to be their pillar of support. She’s also in a job that she hates, and struggling to overcome the grief of her ex-boyfriend, who tragically died. Miller sees right through her facade, and literally just wants to be that pillar of support for Kit. In return, over the course of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Kit realises that she doesn’t actually hate Miller and that, she might have even been wrong about her misguided feelings. Kit’s journey was so intriguing, and I couldn’t help but root for her every step of the way. I just wanted her to find a way to move forward without the weight of guilt or the fear of being happy. And I also really wanted for her to get with Miller, and I was so glad when they did!!

Honestly, I’m not sure how I’m going to recover from this.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it most certainly won’t be the last.
I loved the duet narration. It really makes a story. I wish all authors would choose it.

Where do I start? I went into this blind and I could not put this book down. Kit is on a trip her father sent her on. Climb Mt Kilimanjaro. Never in a million years did she ever think she would be climbing with her sister's ex, Miller. He's the one that got away, the one that broke up with her by text. But there he is, and every second he can, he is working to be near her. Miller wanted to be there for Kit. Years ago, though she was young, he had a crush on her, and leaving her sister seemed the smart thing to do. Now grown up, she still has the spunk and the chemistry is explosive. But Kit holds back, knowing her sister still holds a torch for Miller. Where does this go? Oh my, Miller. Talk about book boyfriends, and the way he is there for Kit the entire trip. I love the secrets her father has kept, the loyalty Kit has for her sister and the way Miller loves Kit. The banter is off the charts and the climb is a way for me to experience something I know I will never do. It's one of my favorite listens of the year.

Rose Dioro and Grayson Owens made this listen for me. What a great casting! Dioro is so good at giving Kit the attitude she needs to protect her heart, and I love Rose brings out all Kit's vulnerabilities. Owens dives into Miller with a bit of antagonism but lets the love flow right out of him. It's a fantastic and a listen that you should not miss!

The perfect escape!

Elizabeth O’Roark does it again and pens another winning novel, a romance novel like no other and one that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Kit Fisher’s father sent her on a work trip, a climb on Kilimanjaro, not one she was looking forward to or prepared for, but she is a good sport, (not really) and will make it work. Then she runs into him, Miller West, the last person she’d want to see, never mind climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with. She does not hold back and we learn exactly why she had such animosity towards him, but once the climb starts and they face other challenges than being in each other’s company. Eventually realizing the real reason behind the animosity that she feels. The back-and-forth banter between these two was hilarious, Kit’s wit and Miller’s great comebacks, with both holding their own. Miller is such a sweetheart, and so easy to fall in love with, except Kit could not go there and it could never be since he was her sister’s ex, the one she thinks got away. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with a perfect balance of drama, angst, witty dialogue and humor, a few behind the scene twists, some charming and heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait romance. Elizabeth O’Roark, thank you for another amazing and wonderfully entertaining story, the laughs, and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Rose Dioro and Owen Grayson were the perfect cast to bring the characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. I loved how they took their roles and owned them, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Dioro was a natural in Kit’s role, grasping every aspect of her personality and demeanor, from her wit to her fierceness and all in between. Grayson did the same as Miller and was just as amazing in the role, swoon worthy and all. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ personality and had you feeling them all. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and a riveting performance that is entertaining and a pleasure to listen to.
