Summary

As seen on BBC 2's hit TV show This Farming Life.

Emma Gray was just 23 when she moved to an isolated farm in Northumberland, becoming Britain's youngest solo shepherdess. In the seasons that followed, Emma fell in love with its rolling fields, sycamore trees and sturdy farmhouse, where she tended her sheep and trained her dogs - and even found romance along the way.

But when Emma finds herself suddenly alone again, heartbroken, mourning the loss of loved ones and recovering from a serious accident, she can't help but wonder if her isolated existence is still such a sensible idea. Even if she could recover, how could she make a proper living on Fallowlees Farm?

In her heart-warming new book, Emma reveals how she picks herself up from these setbacks to become one of the country's most successful trainers of Border Collies and how she - much to her surprise - finds true love and lasting happiness where she least expects it.

Written with warmth and humour, My Farming Life is testament to the healing power of nature and a joy for anyone who's ever dreamed of living closer to it.

Amazing

I loved this so much. My first try listening to a book via audible as a busy mum of two girls. I'm passionate about farming and I just found the stories and style of Emma's writing unbelievably good. She had me hooked. Have pre-ordered the next book. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love love loved it!

Brilliant storytelling and a wonderful tale of the ups and downs of farming and sheepdog trialling. Really heartwarming and wholesome, with a beautiful love story and partnership at the centre (with Ewan but also with Fallowlees)! I was so sad the reach the end.

Fabulous Role Model

Loved Emma’s book from the epilogue, I was totally invested from chapter 1. The highs, the lows, the expectations and reality. As a country girl I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as did my 9 year old daughter.
Highly recommend and I’m buying the book in hard copy as I binge listened the audio book in 4 days.
Can’t wait for the next one Emma 😊
