Just like the cheesy love song in it this story was full of heartwarming nostalgia. Loved seeing the characters getting to know each other, perfect balance of Christmas cheer and depth.

This was a lovely cosy read/listen. It is the sort of book that I imagined being in front of the fire and enjoying it. It had love, back stories and a touch of lighthearted fun.

We meet Cara, she is a professional singer and musician. She had a very serious accident which left her with a life changing injury but she is determined not to let it get in her way, her father Gordon does enough worrying for them both and he is overprotective. Cara knows her mind and stands up for herself.

For her Christmas is an occasion that she celebrates with her father as they are all that is left now their family has been cut in half. It is always a somber time as memories of the missing half of their family is always at the forefront.

In Miami is Javi, he never takes anything seriously and has a divorce behind him, a daughter called Bea and a string of conquests. He has a terrible grief behind him that makes him act this way to avoid feeling anything.

Now Cara & Javi must work together to create a song that could reach number one. Put these two characters together and you get Javi putting on the charm and Cara not affected by his behaviour. With both of them not allowing their hearts to feel, how will this work?. The video they have to make is all about love and gazing into each other’s eyes. They must find a way of creating chemistry.

The part that made me chuckle was when her father meets Javi. Cara’s father is a renowned judge and is full of criminal statistics and does not care who hears it. As Cara has to travel to promote the single to places like Miami and other Latin places. Her Dad feels he must travel over to help her against any criminal gangs they may face, it is cringeworthy but his attitude made me giggle 🤭🤭🤭.

I loved Javi’s daughter who is wise above her years and calls her Dad by his Christian name.

Things change when for the first time in his life that Javi realises his charm does not affect every one. What will he do about it? How does this affect the relationship dynamics for all of them?….
