Story
Luke is a comic-mad 11-year-old who shares a tree house with his geeky older brother, Zack. Luke's only mistake is to go for a wee right at the wrong time. While he's gone, an alien gives his undeserving, never-read-a-comic-in-his-life brother superpowers and then tells him to save the universe. Luke is massively annoyed about this, but when Zack is kidnapped by his archnemesis, Luke and his friends have only five days to find him and save the world.... Hilariously narrated by Joe Thomas.

There used to be an empty chair at the back of my class, but now a new boy called Ahmet is sitting in it. He's eight years old (just like me), but he's very strange. He never talks and never smiles and doesn't like sweets - not even lemon sherbets, which are my favourite! But the truth is, Ahmet really isn't very strange at all. He's a refugee who's run away from a war. A real one. With bombs and fires and bullies that hurt people. And the more I find out about him, the more I want to be his friend.

Summary
Luke and his brother have swapped bodies by accident. Zack's got Luke's weird feet while Luke has Zack's superpowers! Now he needs another world-threatening adventure to try them out. Could a family mini-break at Great Minds Leisure Park be his chance? Probably, because that's where his super-clever arch-enemy lurks, fermenting dastardly plans and bubbling gently....
My Arch-Enemy Is a Brain In a Jar is the fourth instalment of Luke's laugh-out-loud adventures. From the author of My Brother Is a Superhero, winner of the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and the British Book Industry Awards Children's Book of the Year, and My Gym Teacher Is an Alien Overlord, winner of a Lollies Laugh Out Loud 2017 Book Award.
Hilariously narrated by Joe Thomas, star of The Inbetweeners and Fresh Meat.

Genuinely funny - great series for 10 year old boy
This series is genuinely hilarious and deals with the troubles of being the younger, non-super brother to a super-hero teenager. As the mother of two boys (aged 10 and 12) I can see much of my boys interactions in this book. You don't have to start from the beginning, but in it would probably help as there are some characters who crop up from an earlier story thread.
Nothing too challenging plot wise, scare wise or language wise. My 10 year old even told me later he'd dug the book out of the school library to finish the story at school, because we had got to an exciting bit of the audio-book & he couldn't wait until later. It that's not a great review, I don't know what is.

The story is adventurous and you are always thinking what will happen next. There are some surprises. I think Luke is very funny and always thinks everything is suspicious. I really can’t wait for the next book!
