Very simple and well-spoken

It is an excellent audio book. Well speaking, some of the advanced info in the last part of the audio book is beyond my current understanding being a beginner.

It is an excellent audio book

Well spoken, some of the advanced info in the last part of the audio book is beyond my current understanding being a beginner. However, the parts on scale and chord construction were just what I was looking for.

This audio book enables me to learn individual.

One good way to do this is to look for song covers on youtube. Sometimes you might even find links to sheet music in the video descriptions.

Ramblings and repetitions

I went through this audio book to see if it would benefit my wife as she just started learning the piano. I do not understand why most listeners rated it 5 stars. There is whole part on geometry, which I like, but that does not belong to an entry level book on Music Theory. There is also the author's political opinions on the government which is happy keeping its citizens dumb as it is much easier to control cows than people with PhD's. I tend to agree with the author, but again, it has nothing to do the topic at hand.
And then there are passages on advances topics like on serial music and 12-tone serialism, subjects that do not belong to an introduction to music theory.
The passages on chord families are confusing and overall, The book seems likes a bunch of posts stitched together.
the book deals mostly with 3-note chords, triads, which is good, He also mentions 7th chords a few times. But at one point he talks about 9th and 13th chords out of nowhere. Weird.

In conclusion, save your money, you are better off with a book that teaches you your instrument and also introduces Music Theory. Your local community college is also an excellent alternative.
