Very dodgy. Waste of money unless you're desperate

This has obviously been run through something like Google translate (paraphrasing a bit: ”FL Studio used to be known as FruityCircles and has a smidgeon of a picture issue due to its unusual appearance"). This makes every sentence an adventure of real-time reinterpretation as you try to figure out what the original author might actually have meant.

The book rapidly moves through a series of disjointed chapters giving surface-level detail on basic topics, when I can figure out the mistranslated narration at all. The narrator himself marches through the mangled nonsense text like a robot from the future.

The deluge of simultaneous 5-star reviews with strange titles written by a delighted village of real humanpeople with middle initials is also so concerning that I'm now wondering whether this Lewis Gray is even the real author, given the overall state of the audiobook. It might as well have been ripped off a blog, run through a free auto-translator and narrated by Microsoft Sam.

A bit static and hard to get into

I found the narration of this book to be somewhat static and unengaging. Much like another book on music production I read recently, there is a missed opportunity to include some audio examples to further illustrate the concepts in the book, though I appreciate the paper format being the primary medium, it would have been logistically difficult to add this in.

I was also disappointed to listen to an entire chapter dedicated to the structure of an EDM song when other genres are not really covered at all. This would make for a much longer book, but I don't think EDM is necessarily representative of the average music genre even if perhaps it is the genre most aspiring producers gravitate towards (I'm not one of them).

Overall the material covered is quite good and there are useful pieces of advice scattered throughout but there is also quite a bit of room for improvement.

Utter rubbish dont buy it.

This book has been very poorly translated to the extent that it is comical. There may well be some good information but its impossible to get at it because of the use of inappropriate words, clunky phrases that no english speaker would use and really poor grammar. In a section relating to musical arrangements it refers to the verse, chorus and scaffold. I believe that the author means the "bridge." There are similar issues in every paragraph. Dont buy this book.

Cannot stand these fake computerized narrators.

If you wrote a good book, spend the money to hire a real, human narrator, not a computerized, expressionless one.

Beginning of the Downfall of Audible?

I have several hundred audible audiobooks, even before the audible plus thing. But I'm noticing more and more that exactly what is happening in this recording and its obviously largely fake reviews is creating what will soon become a major problem for audible.

The narrator for this book - as helpful as some of its content might be - is an unlistenable robot. And the reviews? Look at how repetitively fake they are. They're all basically different versions of "This book was great! It gave me even more information than I expected!" No details on what was helpful, why it was helpful or what might need improved. They've either created a bunch of fake accounts or paid some crooked company to do it. And I've seen several dozen of these in the past few weeks.

Audible had better wise up and take action, because Audible listeners are very bright and it won't take much to figure out what's going on. we'll all be going back to strictly reading books.

An excellent book for everyone

Woody is a genius. He touches the most technical aspect of music production and expresses it in a very simple and understandable ways. After I have researched so much about music production, I am so happy I could lay my hand on this solution. Greatly written, and an excellent book for everyone.
