Summary

A brand new cozy crime series set in gorgeous Tuscany...It's murder in paradise!

A remote retreat…

Nestled high in the Tuscan hills lies Villa Volpone, home to renowned crime writer Jonah Moore and his creative writing course. It’s also the last place retired DCI Dan Armstrong expected to spend his retirement! Dan’s no writer, but maybe this break will help him to think about the next chapter in his own life story?

A gruesome murder…

But only days into the course, Jonah Moore is found stabbed to death with his award-winning silver dagger! And Dan finds himself pulled out of retirement with a killer to catch.

Eleven possible suspects.

The other guests all seem shocked by Jonah’s death, but Dan knows that one of them must be lying. And as he and Italian Commissario Virgilio Pisano begin to investigate it quickly becomes clear that everyone at Villa Volpone has secrets to hide…

But can Dan discover who the murderer is before they strike again?

A gripping new murder mystery series by bestselling author T.A. Williams, perfect for fans of Lee Strauss and Beth Byers.

Abandoned half way through

I liked the idea of a series of murder mysteries in such settings and hoped to become interested, but I abandoned half way through as it all seemed so formulaic. I found the English ex-policeman hard to believe in and the instant bond with the Italian policeman also hard to believe.

Very enjoyable- I hope there is a follow up.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Even though there was murder involved it seemed very genteel and uplifting. It was just what I needed after listening to a book I found to be quite unexpectedly distressing. Please write a follow on series. Simon Mattaks was an excellent narrator - he’s a keeper.

Fantastic new series.

So enjoyed the story, keeps you guessing, love the main character, really well read and can’t wait for the next book.
I hope the series is going to be a long one.

Disappointed - abandoned it.

Like an inappropriate uncle at a wedding. Some of the observations are cringe worthy.

Good narrator

I enjoyed the narrator’s voice and glad to see he’s the narrator on the two following books.

Enjoyed my little break to Tuscany

I thoroughly enjoyed the book the narrator was great and I ended up listening to it in 2 days as I was captivated by the story and location, I wasn’t sure at first but loved it by chapter 3, made me laugh in parts and was a real page turner, the writer clearly did their homework on the location and the narrators pronunciation was perfect, I will definitely look for other books by this author in future thank you

Delightful find

Delightful find while on a traveling holiday. Not taxing, easy listen and beautiful setting. Could almost touch/feel the Tuscany countryside and food. Enjoyed the characters, looking forward to rest of series. Wonderful escape without a lot of waffle .
Narrator is a new favourite , fitted perfectly to the main character and story

Entertaining cozy

This is a good book to listen to if you like relaxing stories, with interesting characters, and an above average result. I only guessed half the mystery. I no longer enjoy thrillers, so if edge of your seat suspense is your cup of tea you won't like this book.

Loved the descriptions of each unique character

Wonderful details about characters, raw emotions and landscape. I wish I had listened to this book first. But despite not listening to them in order, the story was entertaining and relaxing.

Awful

Couldn’t return but wanted to, didn’t realize content! Should give more info in description. Didn’t make it pad the first few chapters.
