Summary

Miss Marple meets Oscar Wilde in this new series of cosy mysteries set in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Bunburry.

In "Murder in High Places", the sixth Bunburry book, Oscar will brave the Cotswolds for the first time! Alfie has tried for months to convince his best friend to visit him - but when a glamorous High Society Party in honour of celebrated actor Dorian Stevens is announced, Oscar just can't resist. He is - after all - Dorian's greatest fan and can't wait to meet his hero. But the evening at the lovely Saville mansion takes a murderous turn ...

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series Piece of Cake. He is also the lead in the BBC series Inspector Lynley Mysteries, based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Definitely improving!

I have now listened to all the Bunberry stories and although I wasn't sure at the beginning if this was going to be a 'cheap' Cherringham, I have grown to enjoy them more and more. I love the elderly two ladies who keep an eye on Alfie and Betty is an intriguing character of whom I hope we see more. The stories are well set and you can easily disappear into a well described Cotswold world -very pleasant to drift off to sleep to. Nothing is too dark, too violent, too complicated or too demanding -bring on the next one! Nathaniel Parker is an excellent narrator and although I keep envisaging Alfie as Inspector Lynley, that isn't necessarily a bad thing!

Another superb story

Well, I was a little wary of this Bunburry saga of stories when I stated to listen to them. After the first book I was hooked. I have now listened enthralled to all six and am wondering when the next batch will be launched. The stories are wonderful, the orator just perfect, what a voice. Please hurry and release more!!

Great cozy mystery, exceptional narration!

Love all the Bunburry mystery series! ♥️ Please let there be more after this installment! The ending hopefully is keeping that open as a possibility 🙏. The narrator is one of the best ever...he is exceptionally skilled at voices and managing female voices just as well as male - also in creating unique qualities and personalities fur all the characters. If there are more Bumburry mysteries - I absolutely hope Nathaniel Parker will be the narrator - I will be looking for other books narrated by him most definitely! Highly recommend all of this series!

People with money

Do you realize people with money and with recognizable jobs like heads of companies, or well known dramatists or singers feel they should be treated differently? Not all, but many feel they are above the law. Are they?

Nathaniel Parker once again does a fantastic job but this story was just yuck. and I hope Betty stays gone. She is an annoying pain in the butt.
