Nora Breen is a wonderful character who immediately draws you in and makes you laugh with her sharp sense of humour. The story is light-hearted in places, yet it doesn’t shy away from the gruesome details of the murders. Nora tackles each investigation with a focused, brilliant mind, making her an engaging and compelling detective. There’s also a touch of romance, fascinating historical moments, and intriguing puzzles that seem impossible to solve. With plenty of unexpected twists and no predictable moments, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

There are so many things to recommend this book. The follow up to the first instalment is well crafted and mesmerising. I loved the way Nora gets further defined in this case. Brilliant story. Can’t wait for Book 3!
