About this listen

Imagine Agatha Christie crossed with Murder, She Wrote . . .

England, December 1927.

In this light, humorous cozy mystery, arrogant Edward Linton has returned from years of living in Paris. But has he changed? Because, if not, the consequences for him might be deadly.

When Mrs. Kate Forbes and her academically minded niece, Lady Jane Scott. are invited to a gathering at Linton Hall, the last thing they expect is to become amateur sleuths pitting their wits against Inspector Ridley of Scotland Yard to solve a shocking murder.

Faced with an ensemble of social climbers, eccentrics, and schemers, our daring duo must untangle a web of secrets, lies and deceit if they're to discover whodunnit.

Join Mrs. Forbes and Lady Jane in a classic mystery with plenty of humor and intrigue. Perfect for Miss Marple and Jessica Fletcher fans who enjoy a light cozy mystery.

Enjoyable cosy mystery

This book was poorly written, the dialogue did not ring true to 1927, there were too many one dimensional characters, and no great plot.
Also not well narrated, the reader’s voice was flat and did not differentiate characters well. I gave up on it!

Poor version of a Golden Age mystery

AI rather than a real voice, making for an annoying 'listen'. A wasted credit. On chapter 2 and couldn't bear to listen anymore.

Could have been a good story but couldn’t make it past the second hour. The narration sounds like a machine.

Terribly narrated.
